Temporary Triple

so i got my requested roommate but i was also put into a temporary triple .. anyone else?

any upperclassmen know how long these triples usually last?

Does it say temporary triple on your housing page?

I too am in a triple, but I'm not sure if it's temporary or permanent.

you can't go by how long they've tended to last in the past - this year housing is tighter than it has been in prior years -- look at the web site for res life and click on the faq's -- link is on right side of res life home page.

you should be able to tell if its a temporary or designed triple by looking at your bill and seeing if your housing charge is the amount for a designed triple or a double occupied by 3 people. (see here for rates -- Residential Life - Housing Rates)

actually -- i have to correct that -- i think i read somewhere that they don't adjust the bills until they see if you are detripled -- sorry for the incorrect info!!

I heard that if it's temporary it will say so, otherwise it's a designed tripple room.

any upperclassmen who were previously temporary tripled .. how long did it take you to get de-tripled? i heard from an upperclassmen friend that he got detripled 2 years ago within 4 days .. would be that be possible for us this year?

i can't give you an exact time, but I've heard it gets de-tripled fairly quickly

A friend of mine was in a temporary triple for about 3 weeks last year. Another friend was detripled in less than a week. It's hard to predict how long the shifting around will take. Keep in mind that housing is tighter this year than it has been in years past, so it might take longer. Like iamhere said, last year's numbers are no indicator of what this year will be like.

i heard that abt 900 students are put into tem triple this yr.
