Tennis!

yeah dude, my black code is soooo dead. and those were the polylons im getting! i really like the feel, its actually a lot for a poly. how’s the spin compared to something lke black code or rpm blast?

I can’t really say, because I tried the Polylons on my N95, and the RPM Blasts on the HPS6.0 95. And the frames are obviously different.

very spinny for sure. But between the two in the same racquet? I cannot say. . .sorry .__.

its all good, thanks so much for the help though! a couple more questions, what tension did you like it at the best? and what color did you get, red or white? i kinda like the red one but its a bit tacky. im ordering the string tomorrow.

When I played in my high school (it was ~4,000 feet elevation), I asked for the max tension (60 lbs.)

When I hit in my college (UCSB, where elevation was like 20 feet), I asked for the lowest tension (~50 lbs.)

So. . .maybe around ~51 lbs was good to be (when I’m in SB.)

The polylons come in different colors? D:

[Gosen Polylon Comfort 17 String](http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/Gosen_Polylon_Comfort_17_String/descpageACGOSEN-GPC17.html) they do indeed! which color do you think i should get? white is kinda boring but red is a bit tacky. i think black string looks really good on my racket but they dont offer it for this string so red or white?

WHAT. SINCE WHEN DID POLYLON COMFORTS COME IN RED COLORS??//

go for. . .white. I think white matches well with your current stick lol.

If you want to see what red looks, then I guess, look at one of my pics here:[/url”>UCSB v Cal Poly Pomona, 04/2011 07 | Benjamin Racknagel. | Kenneth Song | Flickr]here:

College tennis is my dream! Very nice! And yeah I may go for the white. Have you ever tried the sidewinder? A friend of mine really likes it, i may just buy one to test.

Bumpity bumpsta

Ooops. Sorry I missed your question Virginiuh lol.

Never even heard of the sidewinder. . .lol.

Just try a set. . .any particular sets of strings may become your “holy grail” lol.

Any recommended hybrid setups?

Not that I know .__. i never really played around with strings enough to give you a base recommendation.

you should play around with setups now Virginiuh. :p

Haha yeah I should, and I am! I just ordered some string and am going to be testing them out soon. How long have you been playing?

6 years. lol.

you?

Im just a club player, so most of these posters compete a lot more than me. I am currently stringin Luxilon Big Banger in 18 gauge @ 56 lbs. I like it a lot! My play style is baseline wall with a very heavy topspin forehand. I drive slice 90% of backhands except serve return which I two hand.

For me natural gut is the best thing ever! Except that I do not have enough sticks to keep strung up in case of breakage, which with my playstyle and high gauge i have breaks often.

I personally think that needing to be tall in tennis is a myth. I think that even when looking at the pros opens up the old causation vs correlation argument. My mixed doubles partner is short (5’ 2 or 5’ 3), but i have noticed that she has a distinct advantage at fielding drop shots and has the ability to play at least three feet closer than me to the baseline making the net of course three feet closer as well.

6 months ahahah

And BowTie, what racket?

Anybody decent player can dropshot – you just need practice and some deft touch.

And anybody can hit the ball on the rise – you just need practice and good anticipation.

Height doesn’t really matter at the club level and high school, really.

Great set up–my son plays D1 tennis but he used these strings as a junior and I was the one who usually took his racquets to get strung - set at 63

Which school does your son compete for SockherMom?

lol @ 20 hours a week being a lot…
