Just wondering, with these terrible midyear grades, are my chances of getting into Bucknell now impossible?

No. As you know, you've offered them some reason to backburner your candidacy though. And that this is a 6 month development, not a recent event. 'Twould not be difficult to conclude for whatever reasons, you're failing to work up to your potential, and your downhill direction (from 1st qtr to 2nd) is not a good thing. It's readily apparent you are loaded with ability, well above the average Bison, and could do well at BU should you succeed in this admissions hurdle. Like most of us, you appear to have made some choices that make your pursuit more challenging.Good luck.

The best resources for this question are the admissions contacts you may have been given or that you can find through the Bucknell website. Just ask - they're pretty straight forward about it.

with those satII scores, i think it will be hard for them to say no to you.

"Good morning! Usually what we look for is in final grades. One C is OK, but when a student starts to say get multiple C’s their senior year after being an A/B student their whole high school career we start to look at them again. If this is occurring with you, I would suggest to continue with the class second semester and try to pull your grade up! We would not suggest dropping the course just because it is one C. We want students that continue to push themselves through their senior year to keep sharp for the strong academic atmosphere they will experience at Bucknell next fall! I hope this helps – if you want to discuss this further with me please do not hesitate to email me back or call my office!" This is from an email from an admissions officer earlier this month...
For ED students, if they have grades like yours and they are already accepted, they're supposed to be subjected to a complete review upon their final grades. I'm not sure what the policy is for RD.
