So, I am a college student. Yes, a college student. I just finished my freshman year, but I am looking to transfer to a different (better) school. I thought why not just try to boost my college résumé with a nice test score. Not sure if it will make a difference or not, but I think it would be better than my 29C I submitted as a freshman applicant.
Anyways, my proctor could NOT speak. I am not exaggerating, she legitimately mumbled EVERYTHING. I think she had an impairment of some sort, but when she would read the instructions, no one understood a word she was saying. I asked her if she would be telling us when we had like 5-10 minutes left (that’s all I cared about), and I know for a fact she said yes, but during the test, she did not tell us, so I looked up at the clock, shocked to see we had 5 minutes left. Perhaps she did tell us, but she mumbled everything, so I probably did not even hear her. I cannot emphasize how poorly this woman spoke. She seemed like a nice elderly lady, but she could not speak… kids were even laughing at her. I felt so bad, and I hate to report this to the ACT because I do not want to see her fired, but I was at a disadvantage. On top of all this, the school did not have air condition. I was DYING in the heat. It was so difficult to concentrate. The combination between my frustrations with the proctor and the heat were my ruination.
Do you think I should report this to the ACT? I just felt like I was in a nightmare. I would like to retake in September since I do not think I did so swell on this one. A free retake would be nice! I did get a free retake when I took this back in high school since the school was UNBEARABLY hot. Would they even give me a second retake two years later?
