Test Masters - Great SAT Prep Course

Ok, I'm not sure if I'm allowed to advertise for any company or not, but this course just helped me so much that I have to recommend it. Admins can take it down if it breaks any rules.

I recently took the TestMasters SAT Classroom course, and the first bonus of their courses is that they guarantee a 300 point increase (if you don't get that, you can retake, receive private tutors, etc.), which is just too huge to pass up.

Personally, I believe their writing courses were the most effective, followed by the critical reading classes. Of course, this completely depends on where you need help, as I've never had any trouble with math.

Their curriculum consists of 3 - 4 hour actual exam sessions (spread apart over the course), where you sit down and take a practice SAT exam, later graded by the TM staff, and 9 - 3 hour classroom sessions where you get taught by different instructors. Classes are generally small, probably ranging from 10-20 kids, depending on your location.

As proof of their success, I started with a 2080 [M720, CR740, W620] at the beginning of the course (without any TM help), progressed to a 2250 M760, CR740, W750 and ended the course with a 2320 [M800, CR720, W800].

While the course is pretty expensive ($750), if you can afford it, it's definitely worth it. I can also get you a $25 discount! You can either type in 'AB471' at the shopping basket screen once you confirm your purchase set, or you can go to the referral link (<a href="https://student.testmasters.com/portal/shopping/Basket.aspx%5B/url%5D">https://student.testmasters.com/portal/shopping/Basket.aspx</a>) and choose your package from there.

I enjoy watching the interviews of perfect scorers on the testmasters youtube channel. I am sure the course is pretty good, but I personally feel that self motivation and doing studying on your own (using study books and other resources to learn) can be much more benefiting than expensive tutors. One reason the SAT test is so heavily criticized is because their is a strong correlation between wealth and how you do. In fact, a Harvard professor declared it “a wealth test”. It is the kids who can afford expensive tutors from an early age that do well.

I have no problem with Testmasters. At the same time, however, I feel that tutors should he used for kids who are struggling and behind in whatever subject, not for smart kids to get ahead.

So your CR went down? Sounds great!

I don’t doubt it helps, but people with self-motivation plus CC can do just as well. I don’t think SAT is a wealth test, as I myself come from a not-so-high income family but still afford a good score. It’s really more about spending your time to study. An hour a day over te course of 3 years cannot go wrong
