Livieliz9, =) try this link if recommended books are not up to your standers:

[SSAT - Taking the SSAT](About the SSAT | Private School Admission Test)

Good Luck!

Try Kaplan,Princeton,etc.Also try to buy the newest book of the year

I got SSAT/ISEE Kaplan 2012 edition. Is this the right one??

It doesn’t matter which year it is. The only thing that is different from one year to the next is the cover.

Princeton is 5x better than Kaplan, trust me. Kaplan vocab list is superfluous.

@liveliz:Yes,OK.It’s true
@neatoburrito :SOmetimes they changed sth that we dont know.So just buy the newest
@EOTS:I like both :)

I’d recommend Princeton Review for general practice, and supplement it with Barron’s if you need more practice tests and vocab words. I found Barron’s particularly useful for vocabulary :)

I had used The Princeton Review, Kaplan, and the online guide and practice test on the ERB website. The Princeton Review actually had errors in the book! Also, it did not give any explanations for the answers which Kaplan did. But, Kaplan has more vocab words, which I actually would suggest to stick with the Princeton Review on that because you end up over-studying vocab with Kaplan. Kaplan’s tests were too easy I would say. Using the ones on the ERB website was helpful, and more accurate… but I did not see problems that were on the practice test on the actual test that I took. I would say if you had time, start with Kaplan, go to PR, then (if you have time) take the one on the ERB website.

But I had taken the ISEE, I am not completely sure how the specific testing for the SSAT was in the book. But for the common ground ones, it would be the same.
