<p>UCSD has a very strong biology program, and is in an urban area - San Diego, CA.</p>

<p>Occidental comes to mind. Perhaps not a safety, but at least a safe match.</p>

<p>University of Washington. It’s in Seattle and has a bio department that’s probably top 20. Not sure if it’s a safety, though.</p>
