Test your skills

Okay, just out of curiosity I'd like to see how well the general CC population actually can "chance." I have included my stats and will include the schools to which I am applying and I'd like to see what each of you predicts as the schools to which I will be accepted, rejected, and waitlisted. I will then compare my actual results to each prediction and get at least a piece of anecdotal data regarding the validity of chance threads. I don't want to hear match, safety, reach, or any of that. Just the decisions that I will be receiving come Spring. Thanks.

Schools:
Princeton, Duke, Stanford, Yale, Penn, Georgetown, JHU, Columbia, Brown, Swarthmore, UVA.

Those are not easy schools to chance for. For pretty much any applicant

I know, and most people who ask to be chanced are asking to be done so for similarly selective schools. I’d like to see how useful, if at all, it would be for people on this site to guess or predict how one will fair with schools such as these.

Penn - accept

You live in Baltimore?

Princeton - No
Duke - Yes
Stanford - No
Yale - No
Penn - No
Georgetown - Yes
JHU - Yes
Columbia - No
Brown - Yes
Swarthmore - Yes
UVA - Yes

Don’t ask my logic it involves guessing.

You will get into 3, waitlisted at 3, denied at 5, and darned if I can tell you which will be which.

Yes, just outside of Baltimore.
And if this will change anyone’s predictions, I interviewed for Duke, Brown, and Princeton. I feel as though all of them went very well.

If you know Calvert Hall then hi.

I know the school, and many people whom attend, yes. haha.

Small world;) do you go to gilman or st pauls or something because we don’t send anyone to good schools here haha

This is tough but here it goes:

Accepted: UVA, Georgetown, JHU, Penn, Duke

Rejected: Yale, Stanford, Brown, Swarthmore

Waitlisted: Princeton, Columbia

I couldn’t decide but I think that of your top three most selective schools (Princeton, Stanford, Yale) you will be waitlisted or accepted to at least one…but who knows.

What race are you?

I would say rejected by Duke, Yale, Stanford Princeton maybe columbia. Accepted by Georgetown. (I have no clue about the rest)

Mt. St Joe actually haha. Good guesses though. Do you mean that Calvert Hall or the general area doesn’t send kids to good schools?

I’m a Caucasian male.

Looks like no more guesses… tell us now

I’ll tell you when I find out aha. Sorry if I gave the impression that I already had results for each school, but I only have results for one school and I didn’t include it in the list I had given.

hahahahaha… brilliant

No one else?

well i’m a sophomore in high school, and have no logic/justification whatsoever to my mere guesses. this will just be based on prior assumptions and perceptions i have about those schools and their selectivity. i already know i’m gonna be way off :stuck_out_tongue: don’t use me to judge the average CC chancer as I am definitely not an accurate representation…

princeton-waitlisted
