Texas A & M College Station and Texas Christian Fort Worth

heyy , does anyone have any info on these two colleges...??
Texas A & M College Station and Texas Christian Fort Worth ..their business programs..to be acc...i saw their rankings in the top 30...so was jst wondering if they are worth looking at...?? thnxx...

A&M has a pretty good business program, but College Station is incredibly rural, which can be a huge turnoff for certain people. Overall, A&Ms Mays School of Business is probably the third best business program in the state of Texas, with UT McCombs and SMU Cox being number one and number two, respectively. Also, OOS tuition is only like 17k, which isn't that unreasonable.

TCU's program is good, but not quite as good as A&M's. Ft. Worth is a pretty nice area with lots to do. From what I've heard from friends that attend TCU, the school is really split up between Greeks and non-Greeks.

hmmm...kk thankss..and yeaaaa incredibly rural IS a huge turn offf.....just got that off the list....haha..and no actually TCU's ranking was around 35 last year where as A&M was 50...this year A&M is 31 and TCU is 33...so yeah...dunno if the diff is taht large... and whats OOS...srry dunno much..?!? ... UT McCombs and SMU...are they really hard to get into?!?!? ... my SAT is arnd 1800 ...dunno how to calculate my gpa...its 3.78 out of 4.5 ...

thnxx

OOS means Out-of-State

Yeah, I wouldn't put too much stock in a rankings system where a school can jump 19 spots in just one year. I've lived in Texas all 20 years of my life and in my opinion (and an opinion many people from Texas would agree with), UT McCombs > SMU Cox > or = A&M Mays > TCU Neeley

UT McCombs and SMU Cox are pretty hard to get into. I don't have the stats in front of me, but I can assure you that it's much harder to get into each school's business school than just getting into the school as 'Undecided' or 'Economics' major.

If you have not visited TAMU (Texas A&M College Station), you should not apply. TAMU has its own culture, which is conservative and traditional. The most prestigous univesities in Texas are:

Rice

TAMU and UT Austin

SMU … yawn. Maybe some of the Dallas folks are more aware of it than the rest of the state.

Cultures -

Rice - highly intellectual and, I hear, quite the party school. Located in a vibrant, upscale part of Houston.

TAMU - Very traditional, conservative and solid school. All my friends who attended here LOVED it and had so much fun.

UT Austin - Very liberal, very solid school, lots to do in Austin (beautiful town). Some find school way to big and impersonal. Very competitive/weed out the freshmen mentality.
