Text Book Delivery Service

Does anyone have an opinion on that textbook delivery service that sends the books to your house before school? Do you have a better chance to get used books this way? I know then you have to take the books to school with you. Another thing to carry.

But is it a complete zoo at the bookstore the first days?

Any opinions?
Thanks,

I am only an incoming freshman, but I have heard too many times that you shouldn't buy your books at the NYU bookstore.

they are overpriced like ****!
try half.com and such.

when do we get a list of what books we need...and also when do we need to have the books?

around mid-august, you can go to www.bookstores.nyu.edu and look up the books your professors have assigned...you need the books whenever your prof decides to make you read them

so to upperclassmens, did anyone go through with this textbook service? how was it, was it worth all the benefits that it advertised in the letter they sent out in july?

im going to be doing the textbook service. i didnt really want to cuz i know they're overpriced, but my parents insisted. but on the one hand, it will be kinda nice because we're already going to have a lot of other things to worry about at the start of school, you know?

the reason i'm not doing the delivery thing is that i'm from several hours away and i don't want to have more heavy things to tote around and move in with me, just something to consider if you live far.
