Tha Dating Scene

Hello there,

I've got a question, which I'm sure every first-year student's got on his/her mind - how's the dating scene at Penn?

Philip

Don’t get your hopes up…
but no, seriously, there are certainly girls who don’t have a significant other. Many enjoy to just stay single, but I’ve dated a few different people in my time at Penn. Generally speaking Friday are nights when a lot of people go on dates, with Saturday and Thursday being big party nights.

how’s the “hookup scene”? lol

No Excepted, I’m definitely not looking to only “hook-up.” That’s immature and shallow. Geez…

that’s nice psolo. very mature of u

It’s not that I am only looking to hook up… i do want a LTR, but I’ve heard that at nearly every college freshman don’t date that much. i dont know how it is at penn tho, I guess we’ll see

Nychica - Lol, are you being sarcastic?

Excepted - Excuse my ignorance, but what’s LTR mean? Long term relationship?

I know freshmen who get into long term relationships early on in the year with people at Penn. How long they last is a different story. You can find someone for a serious relationship, but it’s a lot easier for random hookups in college.

psolo- not at all. i thought what u said was nice (not to mention rare), coming from a guy

Yeah, Venkat, as depressing as that sounds, it does make sense.

Nychica - Thanks :)

So, where y’all from?

Oh, and in case anyone’s wondering, I didn’t misspell “the” when coming up with a title for this thread. Lol.

Just throwin’ that out thurr.

I actually didn’t even notice ‘the’ was misspelled until you pointed it out.

For the record, when I visited my friend during the Previews, I also hung out with his girlfriend–they met as ITA’s before orientation actually started and had been going out since pretty soon after orientation (I think). I think they’ve broken up (he was abroad all summer), but that was a pretty long time, for what it’s worth.
