Are there any good generic gifts one can give to teachers/counselors? How about chocolate?

What about self-baked cookies?

Well my friends and I got our teacher a quote book because he's obsessed with quotes and uses them for journal prompts, a beanie because we always make fun of the one he wears and a singing xmas tree...because it sings!

A book or a thermos if they like coffee sounds fine.

I gave my counselor scented candles because they seemed to fit her personality. I gave one of my teachers a sudokou puzzle book and a Foxtrot calendar because, again, they seemed to fit his personality. For my other teacher, I gave her a paperweight with her first initial on it. The paperweight was made in France, and she was my former French teacher.

Self-baked cookies are always a nice gesture (although I wouldn't try this if you're not good at baking). I suppose teachers would also appreciate giftcards to Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks.

Well, I haven't rewarded my teachers as yet, but I did send a Christmas card to my Brown interviewer.

I'm going to get my calculus teacher some sort of nerdy calculus merchandise, my English teacher a book, my counselor some chocolates, and my eastern studies teacher something from China...

Counsellor: A book on the history of NBA

SS teacher: Encyclopedia on "The Pacific War."

English Teacher: An art album collection of arts and crafts made by Chinese peasants.
