I know that if you were interviewed you should send a thank you letter, but what if you were interviewed over the phone? Should I still send the university a letter thanking them for their time? Or would it just seems too much that I'm sucking up?

Definitely send it.... NOW!! Very short, very sweet... a little card in a little envelope, snail mail. Don't even need to say more than you just said, ie thank you for taking the time to speak with me. Requires as much effort as posting the question here. OK, but it's simple common courtesy, not "sucking up." :)

It's hard to go wrong with a Thank You. Perhaps you could offer to send additional info if they need it.

How did the interview go?

I think it went pretty well. She asked me some of the expected questions such as what made you interested in attending the honors program, what can you contribute, any questions, blah blah. It was really interesting and slightly nervewracking.

Is a short paragraph ok for a thank you letter?
