Thank-you note for free laptop and linens

Hi,

The Financial Aid Office at Duke University offered me a MacBook Pro Retina and bed linens. I am, however, required to write a thank you note to the donors. My question is, how long should this note be? I have never done anything similar before.

At least 3-4 paragraphs. 1st introductory (short), last (4) concluding (short). Second longer enumerating how these items will help you. Paragraph 3 talking about it will help your studies. Paragraphs 3 and 4 can be combined.

I don’t think you can go wrong as long as you are sincere, which I know you will be, and you take care with spelling, grammar and syntax, which I know you will do.

For added effect, handwrite the note on a nice card.

The financial aid office gives out free laptops and linens, but they expect my family to pay double the amount my sister at Penn is expected to pay for the 2016-2017 year… >:( >:(
