So I've come to the end of my college admissions process FINALLY!!! After much debate, I've decided to continue with my education next year at UCLA (I sent in my admissions response form a few days ago for those who are patiently waiting on the wait-list ;)). I would have loved to be able to attend Virginia (or Michigan, for that matter), but out-of-state tuition was simply way out of proportion when compared with that of Berkeley and UCLA in-state. I am so grateful and honored to even be given the opportunity to attend an institution of UVa's tradition, caliber, and prestige though, so for those of you admitted, let us never forget this!

I do want to thank everyone who helped me and encouraged me throughout the process, especially Powderpuff, Shoebox, and Dean J. I also want to thank UVa for never making me feel like a number, but rather an important contribution to the university. I believe you represent the epitome of "holistic review;" no matter what some may think, scores aren't everything, and I'm proof of that.

Lastly, I want to wish all of next year's applicants the best of luck in their own application process; no matter where you end up, remember that an education is a privilege, not a right. Make the most of your experience and you will never have to wonder about what may have happened if you'd chosen "another school."

I'll drop in every now and again, but until then, best of luck UVa '12!
