Thank you!

So I've come to the end of my college admissions process FINALLY!!! After much debate, I've decided to continue with my education next year at UCLA (I sent in my admissions response form a few days ago for those who are patiently waiting on the wait-list ;)). I would have loved to be able to attend Virginia (or Michigan, for that matter), but out-of-state tuition was simply way out of proportion when compared with that of Berkeley and UCLA in-state. I am so grateful and honored to even be given the opportunity to attend an institution of UVa's tradition, caliber, and prestige though, so for those of you admitted, let us never forget this!

I do want to thank everyone who helped me and encouraged me throughout the process, especially Powderpuff, Shoebox, and Dean J. I also want to thank UVa for never making me feel like a number, but rather an important contribution to the university. I believe you represent the epitome of "holistic review;" no matter what some may think, scores aren't everything, and I'm proof of that.

Lastly, I want to wish all of next year's applicants the best of luck in their own application process; no matter where you end up, remember that an education is a privilege, not a right. Make the most of your experience and you will never have to wonder about what may have happened if you'd chosen "another school."

I'll drop in every now and again, but until then, best of luck UVa '12!

vc08,
I wish the best for you! Isn't it great to finally have peace of mind? That was a fairly classy farewell note too BTW. Bye for now.

Congrats with your decision, and have fun at UCLA!

Congrats, and may good fortunes await you at UCLA.

Good Luck vc08. It's been fun going through the process with you.

best...

UCLA will be a great experience, I'm so glad you actually had to chose between two fantastic schools. Enjoy the ride, I'm sure it will be great, and definitely come back during admissions next year to help all of those going "UVA vs UCLA?" =P Congratulations, and good luck!

Wise choice, given the costs involved. Don't forget about applying to UVA in the future if you're interested in business school! The cost differences are much smaller and UVA law/biz are better than the programs at UCLA and at least as good as the programs at UCB, if not better.
