Thanks to everyone!

I apologize it's been awhile since i've been here, but I just wanted to thank all the parents for the support and information provided on this forum. As a first-time BS parent, I had no idea what my D was getting me into by broaching the subject of BS last year. Fast forward and she will be a freshman at NMH this fall. She's incredibly excited and I'm incredibly grateful to this community for its guidance. Now it's on to the next D who is entering 7th grade and has also indicated a BS interest. She's a horse-lover so that limits her choices, especially in New England, but we will take a breath and deal with that in a few months! Thanks again!

RE: “horse lover.” If your D expands her search beyond New England, she should look at Madeira and Foxcroft in the horse country of Northern Virginia outside DC.

Sorry - errors above…

Thanks…I’ve done a bit of research already; however, my post was directed as more of a “thank you” to the CC parent community and less of a reach out for Horse-loving BS at this point. I do appreciate the feedback, though!

Glad your D found a fit and that the school felt similarly about her. And kudos for looking beyond the 5 schools just about everyone else focuses on…because, you know, they are the only ones worth going to ;-P

I do think the forum can be an excellent resource for people wanting to do their homework/digging around/asking the right questions/connecting (mostly via PM) with current or former parents & students.

Excellent screenname, btw.

Look into the Miriam Bradley scholarship for your 7th grader - full tuition for all 4 years, and can only apply as a 7th grader.

I thought it was Caroline Bradley!

Thanks much for all the support and information! I will look into the Bradley scholarship as well. 7D is right in that NMH just “felt right” to all of us, most importantly our D and thankfully they felt the same way about her/us. It seems to have a great balance of rigor, relaxation and individual expression–all of which are key in sustaining a healthy life, IMO.

Check out Dana Hall. Excellent equestrian team and barn right on campus.
