Thanksgiving break question

My son is a freshman at UR living in Susan B Anthony dorm. We decided earlier in the semester that he would come home for winter break and stay in Rochester for Thanksgiving since we live in Georgia. Anyhow - he had made plans to spend Thanksgiving with a friend in Buffalo, but apparently that has fallen through.

If he stays in Rochester, will any of the dorms on campus be open during the break?

Thanks

Our S is a freshman in Sue B. also and is staying for Thanksgiving. Dorms are open, but no shuttle Thursday and Friday. Dining is VERY limited, but available. We told him to check with various pizza places that might deliver as options. He says many of his friends are staying, as it is only for four days.

I must say I expected more dining options and shuttle service at least on Friday. There are many international and out of state kids who aren’t able to get home for such a short time. Our S1 is a college senior in Chicago and has never come home for Thanksgiving. His college makes it very easy for him to stay.

You know that since college town has opened there are restaurants there. It is a bit of a walk but there isn’t any snow yet. http://www.collegetownrochester.com/shop-dine/ and there is a Chipolte across the street.

And, I believe they can also eat at the hospital with their meal plan.
