A quick question for someone who has experienced Thanksgiving break and class schedules. Do professors strictly adhere to their class schedules before Thanksgiving break? My husband and I are in the process of booking a plane ticket home and our daughter has registered for a lab class that runs until 4 pm on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Due to where we live, there are limited flights out of Bradley and we were hoping to bring her home on Tuesday evening on a flight that leaves at 4:30 pm. There are no flights after that time on Tuesday. What are her chances of asking the prof. to be gone?

Perhaps we need to bite the bullet and bring her home early Wednesday morning?

We brought D home on Tuesday before Thanksgiving last year with no problems. She missed a language class, but she did the required work and handed it in before she left.

Unfortunately, yes, most classes run as scheduled up until Wednesday. However, it usually isn’t a problem to make up the classwork for one missed lab, if it is an intro-level class. If you or your daughter is worried, most MHC professors are really great about helping students schedule around travel obligations during the holidays. Tell her to talk to her professor early about it, and he/she should be pretty accomodating, so long as your daughter isn’t struggling too much in the class.
