Thankyou and goodbye Case

Welp it was a tough decision but I ultimately chose PSU over Case. They were both so close, but my visit to PSU seemed to edge PSU over Case. I had a great Overnight stay at Case (being a Provost Scholar made ppl willing to tell me about the life there.) and wish all of those who do/did choose Case good luck.

I chose CMU over Case -_-;

mizera - What made you decide CMU over Case? I am in the same position and I would be down 70K+ more after 4 years if I went to CMU. I can't decide what the hell to do.

CMU = hottest college for jobs..
i'm majoring in chemE and CMU has better engineering program and employment opportunities

yes, i'm getting a lot of loans too, but if i take advantage of everything available to me at CMU, i think i'll be better off 10 years later

maybe I'm deluding myself. But I don't see a CMU degree to be more valuable than a Case degree.

It's not more valuable, but in general, CMU graduates get better jobs than Case graduates right?

I have a friend who declined CMU for Case, she's premed majoring in Biochem. She loves it at Case. Plus, 100% of Case (engineering or business) graduates have a starting salary higher than the national median.

I don't have a ready source, but I remember researching and finding that in engineering at least, there was no significant difference in salaries between Case, CMU, and other schools. I think people sometimes feel the need to justify their decision to spend ridiculous amounts of money.

Well I'm sad to see you won't be joining me! :( Have fun at PSU! :p

celebrian--you and I can enjoy Case together.

and if they're from Penn, they probably have an innate inclination towards stayign in Penn?

CASE PWNS ALL OTHER SCHOOLS(esp PSU)lol

I actually looked into PSU, but way to expensive (out of state tuition? No thanks!!) and it was a bad-weather day when I visited. And I think there was a bias because I was visiting UPenn, Princeton, NYU, Columbia, and Cornell on the same trip as PSU. Oops.

I'm so glad to be going to case- no regrets! I never looked at PSU- out of state tuition isn't worth it. I'd choose Ohio State over PSU.

well Celebrian Im instate ;). I liked both, but PSU just edged out Case by a fraction (overnight visits will do wonders).

decide to go UCSB
UCSB have better EE major

Was there a reply card for Case, or do you reply just if you're attending?

I think that Case was the hardest to let go of out of all my prospects, because when I got into my first accelerated medical program, I actually felt disappointed that I wasn't going to Case--I almost cried.

Darn it, Case, if you had only offered me a spot in the PPSP, I would have come! I'd walk on fire for that spot. And I'm still not sure which med. program I'm going into. If I was PPSP, my decision would have been made. :(
