Hey guys I just got accepted to Case and got a prov. schol. worth $18600

Now the problem is I was really kind of ruling them out due to the fact that I got into PSU(In-State) already and with the scholarship the tuition is about the same before finaid(needed)
I know the atmospheres are different and thats why Im attempting to visit each before the dealine
I just wanna hear some input on which you guys would pick and why :)

Case just is considered better but case is really easy to get into. I hear socially Case is horrible.

Look at my school's applications over the past 3 years

look at case and PSU.

Both schools are not too hard to get into but case just is much easier than schools at its level. Case is a really good school though. it doesn't have as much prestige though with only a 3.5 Peer assessment rating vs. PSU's 3.8

I got into PSU. I live in Maryland so that is whre I am most likely going to go

have you looked at the specific departments at each school, even just their websites? I'd be leaning towards PSU in your case (though in actuality i'm likely going to case)

I didn't apply to PSU (not really worth the tuition for an out of stater)

But as far as engineering, they are both of pretty equal prestige. But I think when you visit you'll know, because they are so different. Even there locations are vastly different. I wouldn't stress out yet.

in regards to the peer assesment ranking for public universities - they seem super-inflated. They universally have higher assesment ratings than comparable privates. It seems these schools are given more "prestige" on USNews due to doctoral research but this will def not carry to the undergrad experience. I believe most academics ansd employers will be more impressed with Case than PSU, especially if youre in Math or biomed etc.

well actually Case beats PSU on the whole national universities rankings but Im not JUST looking for rankings (Though they dont hurt)
Thx for the advice from you guys and keep it comin! :)
