I'm applying to a number of colleges, but I feel like all of my choices so far have been solid matches, if not safeties.... expect one. So I'm looking for a college that would be a bit of a reach for me, but not so high that I would have no chance at all; which is why I'm creating this thread.

Now.... I hear that Wake Forest isn't requiring SAT's/ACT's anymore, which is why I'm considering it as my "reach" school. What do you think my chances are if I applied without sending in my SAT?

SAT: 1820: 630R, 580M, 610W, and 11 Essay.

What do you think my chances would be with the SAT? I want to major in poli-sci, if it makes a difference. Thanks!

^ It's extremely hard to get AP classes as a homeschooler, and I don't think I even could in my area. Hence all of the college courses. That list of classes that I have is a list of college courses I've taken, which are way better than a typical honors class at a high school.

just wondering... dont want to sound ignorant or anything, but how do you become president of SGA and captain of two varsity sports as a homeschooler?

^ Haha, no worries, most people want to know the answer to that question.

I became Pres. through our homeschool group. It has 80+ high school members, and it is led by six officers that are elected by the group every year. We plan community service activities, field trips, and recreational events for homeschoolers in the area.

Where I live (Florida), homeschoolers can play sports at a school. Take Tim Tebow for example, the QB for the University of Florida Gatros... he was homeschooled all of the way through high school. So that's how I became captain of two varsity teams.

I think it is a good reach school for you. It is certainly feasible, but as long as you have a balanced list of safeties, matches, and a few more reaches you should be fine. Just try to get an interview if you can and work hard on your essays. I think that it is a somewhat of a reach, you can certainly do it. Best of luck!

PS:
Major doesn't really matter as you can't declare until after you have completed your sophomore year. Anyway, there is only one "school" high school seniors can apply to. You can apply to the business school your sophomore year. So its a moot point.
