hey did u call the admissions office?

I wasn’t able to call the admissions office today (by the time I called, there was only an automated message). I’m calling the admissions office on Monday.

Any info on Vassar’s waitlist? I’m gathering the answer is “not yet”?

Yeah… I hope that answer will change soon.

I’ll be sure to call tomorrow morning.

I called the admissions office and they said that they’re still gathering data on the incoming class. I’ll call them again next week to find out if they’re using the waitlist.

Vassar IS using the waitlist this year, I received an email from my regional director asking if I was still interested in attending. Said Vassar will be “offer a number of spaces to students on our waiting list over the upcoming days”

Wow congratulations MrBell, I guess this means they are going to accept you for next year. I wish I got that email. Now we know that Vassar is using the waitlist. It looks like this is consistent with what nhsharvard found, since the first acceptance from the waitlist started around the second week of May.

MrBell, which region does your regional counselor cover? The Northeast? The West Coast? Midwest?

Hopefully, we get acceptances from the waitlist, then. Congrats to you, MrBell!

We were notified yesterday that our son has been accepted off the waiting list at Harvard. He attends an American school in London. Harvard accepted another of his classmates as well.

I know that other students at his school are being accepted off the waiting list at Princeton, Yale, Amherst and Williams. The school has been very pro-active.

Has anybody else heard anything from Vassar’s waitlist, yet?

My friend’s kid was contacted this week to determine interest, and has been accepted.

Good luck to everyone else.

Thanks, Consolation. Yes, good luck to everyone (including me)!

Consolation, when did your friend’s kid get the good news? Which region is your friend’s kid from? West? Mid-West? East Coast?

Ugh I’m so nervous…

i was contacted by the representative for my area (he covers putnum county, westchester county, and western/central connecticut, i think) confirming interest on tuesday, he said to respond by thursday morning (i responded right away), and nothing since then.

@Consolation: when did your friend’s kid hear that he was accepted?

also, does anyone know how we know if we are accepted? do they do it via email?

My friend’s kid was contacted–I think–on Monday, or possibly early Tuesday, by the regional rep, who said something to the effect that “I would like to advocate for you, but I need to know that you really want Vassar.” Kid responded “Yes!” and heard on Tuesday that s/he was accepted. I think. There is some possibility that kid did not hear about acceptance until early this AM. Sorry, I’m obfuscating the gender to attempt to maintain confidentiality. :)

The region is whatever covers Maine.

Again, best of luck to those who are waiting to hear.

@Consolation: thanks so much for the detailed information! sounds a lot like what has happened with me, minus the actually getting accepted part (the most important part haha). i have my fingers crossed.

Thanks, Consolation and undecided1234.

i got in! they called me this afternoon yay and good luck to those of you still waiting
