The AP US Government and Politics Thread 2010

If the questions asks to choose 2 of the 3 and describe them in an FRQ, and you only know one, can you answer both the other ones in an attempt to get points?

They are only supposed to look at the first two…but recently they have started giving credit to the other ones.

Wait, so we can do bullet points for the answers right? All the sample answers in collegeboard are in essay format or short paragraph format

Don’t do bullet points. Do it like an informal essay, nail what you need and nothing else. Keep it short, yet concise. So no need for a thesis, intro, or conclusion. Do NOT label, but instead skip lines and indent.

You can split them into a, b and c. As a matter of fact that’s a lot easier for the readers…

Well I’m off to take the test. Good luck everyone!

True. I’m going to split into abc. Bullets are prohibited, I do believe.

Am I the only one who doesn’t give a flipping pancake about this test? I’m a senior and can’t use it toward any of the classes in my curriculum next year. I haven’t thought about government since December, except for everyday concerns. So basically, I’m taking a $43 nap. You all are welcome for my lowering of the curve!

(If I chose not to take the test, I would have to pay $43 and not receive any ap credit for my class, in addition to taking the teacher’s final exam…when his class ended in Dec…school rule)

Good luck to all!

Let’s beast this one up men.

How long is it until we can talk about it?

We can talk about overall difficulty and how we think we did now. We have to wait 2 days to talk about FRQ and can’t talk about MC. I think I did pretty well I’m going to guess that I got a 5. I didn’t think it was too hard. The difficulty was about average compared to the practice tests I had taken.

easiest test ever if you just read the textbook and listened in class. mc was a breeze and frq’s were pretty lenient too

On the contrary to what others thought, the MC felt harder than the practice tests that I’ve taken. The easy questions were complete jokes, but there were 5 to 10 questions that were either overly vague or overly detail-oriented.

The FRQs were really easy, though. We’ll see how I did.

If I answered 70% of multiple choice right and got 70% of the ones I answered right and got around half of the frq right, will I get a 3?

(That would be, if out of 60 as I think it was?) for mult. choice:
29.4 right
12.6 wrong
18 skipped

I just finished taking it, and I was shocked at how easy it was. I honestly did not study for one second, and I never even studied when I had the class last semester. I’m sure if I would have studied a few hours I could have gotten a 5…

Yea, MC is definitely ahrder than the 2002/2009 released exams. FRQ wasn’t too bad, only thing I didn’t know is the first one (part b where you had to define the 3)

BTW Beta, 29.4 - 12.6 (0.25) = 26.25

Half of FRQ = 30

26.25+30=56.25, you’ll get a 3.

R Catholics republican?

Wow, thanks Significa! My college next year counts 3,4, and 5 the same for this exam. I didn’t try on it though because the class won’t help my major at all, and I already have enough credits for electives…

I’m having a hard time finding a score chart breakoff…does anyone have one for past years?

I think Catholics are Republican -> Democrat :o

Wait so republican or democrat lol?
