The AP US Government and Politics Thread 2010

They recently shifted from Republican to Democrat. So democrat now? o_O I didn’t have any MC dealing with catholics

Democrat

Did anyone else find the beureaucrac quuestion harrrd? I almost completely guessed on parts b / c. MC was a bit harder than expected how did you guys get access to old MC tests BTw?

not really, i found the first FRQ difficult though =/
old tests = google, trade with others, ask teachers, buy them off collegeboard

Ah ok. Whhhat did you sy foor the beaureucracy question. Pm me if were not allowed too discuss

I thought the MC was easy overall. There were four to eight of them that I didn’t know after reading the question, but I was easily able to narrow them down upon review.

I thought the FRQs were very easy and fair.

I skipped one multiple choice and made very very educated guesses on 2-3 others. I think I did well on the 1st and 2nd FRQs. The 3rd FRQ really flexed my BSing skills and the fourth FRQ gave them a stretch.

I calculated my score using data from 2009 and got a raw score of 101. With my adjusted multiplier, I got 105. The last FRQ had fewer points to be earned than 2009, so the multiplier should be greater than 2009’s. I don’t want to get overconfident though.

By the way, here’s the formula:

Raw Score
FRQ1 x 2.5
FRQ2 x 2.5
FRQ3 x 2.5

 • FRQ4 x 2.14 OR 3 ADJUSTED FOR 2010

Raw Score

91 - 120 = 5
79 - 90 = 4
62 - 78 = 3
42 - 61 = 2
0 - 41 = 1

Info about the multipliers:
Each FRQ is worth a specific amount of points, but each one is worth 15 points at the end so that MC provides 50% and FRQs provide 50%. If a FRQ is worth 6 points, the multiplier is 2.5 so that it equals 15. This is how they get the total raw score of 120.

60 MC
15 FRQ1
15 FRQ2
15 FRQ3

 • 15 FRQ4

120

Now I’m off to starting Human Geo!

I didn’t study so rather than answer half the FRQ, I wrote 3 of my answers in limerick form… made sure to use complete sentences though of course

Catholics used to be democrat [underrepresented/discriminated] who turned into moderate/conservative [pro-life].

whos the most underrepresented in congress?

The MCQ was harder than usual and the FRQ was fair. Overall it was a rather doable test.

Women are most the under-represented in anything! :)

**** I said Catholics used to be Republican but became Democrat when Kennedy came into office do you think that would be okay?

Lol, i thought the MC was ok, usual AP MC, but the essay were chewing me up. Good luck to all.
Also does any one know how much you need for each score
ex:
5-70%
4-55%
3-45% ect.

I posted on page 18

women are the most under represented in congress.
Even though black and hispanics have less congressmen, women make up 50% of the country and not even 25% of congressmen are women. So that one could have been answered using common sense.

:)

My exact reasoning. I also figured the representatives who rely on minority constituents (Southern California or the Southwest as a whole). Women count for far more and have far less in Congress.

might not want to talk about the FRQ’s unless you want your test invalidated… or to get sued or something

anyway i got a 5

kind of cocky but ok.

post 271 anyone?

I thought MC was easy…only got 4-6 wrong probably.

However, the FR i thought was a bit challenging…definitely sharpened my BS skills :P

Catholics were never Republican in the past that I know of…
