this is quite possibly the strangest thread I've seen yet on CC, haha (not in a bad way though) - and I've seen a lot of interesting CC threads. yay for mediocrity!

unfortunately I only meet 4/5 :(... darn you, SAT score!

I'm disqualified by numbers one and three, but I did get a C for the year in AB Calc last year.
I got a 0% on a test in that class once.
And I answered all the questions.

Precocious, you can still be a partial member if you meet these requirements:

1.) You need to have a B or lower in 3 or more classes instead of just 1 to compensate for the high SAT scores.

2.) You must not be in the top 10% of your class.

3.) The most important rule of all: You absolutely cannot be a member of the dreaded "Uber Exclusive 2300 club" or the equally evil “Semi-exclusive 2200-2290 club“. You can’t be a member of these groups that celebrate academic achievement if you want to be considered average. They are the exact opposite of what the "average" club is all about.

i like this group ;)
1600 sats/ 2400
i have B's
never gottten higher than a 3 on an AP test
i have gotten C's in math;)

I'm probably considered average, and I got into the University of Michigan... is that a "not so average" school? I don't even know. Also was deferred from Cornell - it's not rejection!

Anyway, my SAT is 2100 exactly.
28 ACT
My average in AP/IB HL Physics is an 82. I've failed multiple tests in this class, and I failed some in SL last year.
No special talents, leadership positions, national rankings, ect. Barely in the top 10% of my class.
(Haven't taken any APs)

So, do I qualify?

DramaCouch, you qualify b/c your ACt is below 31.

Sweeeet.
What about the UMich? I'm not sure whether it was a fit school or a miracle that I got in.

It doesn't matter what school you got into, if you're average, you're average. Congrats on getting into U Mich.

Okay, true. Thanks!

Guess I can't join because I haven't taken the SATs yet, although I'm 98% sure I won't get over a 2100.

I say we give dank a waiver, provided he/she meets the other requirements.

Signed futurenyustudent, Admissions Counselor for the "Average" People Club

I qualify, I probably have the lowest grades out of all of you.

1.) You must have an SAT score of less than 2100 and/or an ACT score of less than 31.

Haven't taken them yet, still waiting for my PSAT scores.

2.) You have to have at least one class in which you have a B or lower.

I have plenty of Cs.

3.) You cannot have a 5 on any AP test.

Haven't taken any yet.

4.) You cannot be nationally ranked in anything, whether it be sports or academics.

I'm not that good at sports.

5.) You must have failed a test (not a quiz) at some point in your high school career.

Last Friday I failed an Alg. 2 test.

dank08

We'll let dank in because he/she will probably not get 2100 based on the academic record. However, if he/she does, the membership is ended. At least he/she is not one of the smart people who complain about not being in a club for "average" people. We also want as many members as possible.

Can I join?

1.) You must have an SAT score of less than 2100 and/or an ACT score of less than 31.
- 1820/2400 on SATs. It's the second highest I've heard of at my school.

2.) You have to have at least one class in which you have a B or lower. For me it is BC Calculus. No straight A students are allowed.
- I got a D. In 10th grade gym. Me + athletic coaches? Bad mix.
I also currently have about a D in AP Calculus AB.

3.) You cannot have a 5 on any AP test.
- Never taken an AP test.

4.) You cannot be nationally ranked in anything, whether it be sports or academics.
-Nope.

5.) You must have failed a test (not a quiz) at some point in your high school career.
- Calculus. I've been failing quite a few tests lately.

O.O Whoa lots of people who wants to join. ^_^ Anyway I put my college list down if I get all the results by April. x] =P

Can I join?

I have an ACT of 28 and a SAT score of 1990...yeah, and one of my friends had a 36 ACT...so my ACT looks especially bad...

I've had FIVE, yes my good friends, FIVE Cs, in math and chemistry...HA HA HA...damn straight...I have a 3.25 gpa unweighted

Always gotten fours...(The five Cs makes up for it)

I'm nationally ranked in...coolness

In geometry, I once got a 44% on a test...the teacher spent the entire time mocking me and how the only thing I did right was my name. Damn. He was a bad teacher, I got an A when we did a "review" of the same subject this year. Damn him and his disney ears...

I want to be a member!
