The best advice for Prep School Interviews.

BE YOURSELF!

I know you have heard it so many times, over and over and over, but that's the reason you keep hearing it. There is no secret formula to interviews. Be yourself, and shine beyond that. It's better to be over interested or excited about a school than to not seem interested. Just let your personality shine through. Also, just think of it as a regular conversation, not an interview. Also, at the end of the day don't be discouraged if you aren't accepted. It's not that you weren't a good candidate, it's just that the admission committee doesn't feel you are a right match for the school. They don't want to put you in a environment were you are uncomfortable or that you won't succeed.

Did I forget to mention?
BE YOURSELF!!! Everyone else is already taken!

Thanks 98.
I had this preconceived notion that there was some magical way to ace interviews. Before, I would think of all the possible things they could ask me and made pre determined answers. Well, for my Exeter interview I did a few days ago, I barely prepared. I mean, I knew what it was about Exeter that I loved and the reason why I would choose Exeter over another school. Other than that, I winged it. By doing this it made the interview genuine which I think the interviewer really appreciated.

Your welcome! I’ve completed all the interviews except one. Btw, my interviews were surprisingly fun! Besides, I got to wear the most business-casual chic clothes I’ve ever seen  Not that it matters, but still. Plus, I think all of my interviewers liked me a lot…I mostly talked about what I love to do the most, and what I would get from that school.

What schools are you interested in/applying to?
