Come on it and don't be ashamed. Out of stater- 3.4 GPA, about 1210 SAT. Sent in my app two days before the deadline and rejected.

I don't mind one bit -- I sent my application to Temple University in on the same day, got accepted about a week later, have my deposit paid, and now I'll be going to a school just far enough away to not have mommy on my back.

For a great price, too ($5k yearly opposed to a friend who got into UW: she's paying almost full tuition).

PARTY IT UP! REJECTION IS OKAY! (Unless you only applied to UW.)

That is really odd. I have pretty much the same stats as you. I also submitted my UW application 5 minutes before it was due, except I got in. I guess it was luck of the draw. Sorry to hear that you got rejected, but Temple is a good school. As for tuition, you win, I have to pay full tuition for OOS. :(

I got in, as well as all of my friends and we're all OOS with around 3.4 UW gpas. I think they actually choose a certain number of OOS so UW can cover the cost of the "husky promise" for those who are not able to afford college.

Good for you Fycus - and for anyone else able to pay $30K plus to attend a state U.. Washington should be commended for their "Husky Promise" program. All states should do the same. Unlike diversity admissions, Husky Promise helps those who are admitted under their own merit - not because someones parents can afford their college costs. It would be a sad state of affairs where only those financially able to afford college get to attend.

So again, thank you (your parents) for your contribution to the higher education system of Washington State.

My girlfriend got in (in-state) with a 3.2/(1300 out of 2400) on the sats with no ec's

My friend with a 2.7/1200 got rejected with no ec's

I got accepted with a 3.75/2100 with 105 college credits (running start)

I think running start helps out a lot in applying since it shows that you are capable andl likely to graduate UW which really is the #1 priority. The university is looking for the applicants who are most likely to get a bachelor's degree and so I think if you have a lot of college credits going in your GPA and SATS is less important since the mere fact that you have completed 2+ years of college already shows that you will in all probability do the two more.
