The Catcher in the Rye

This is my moms favorite book.

I did so bad on my exam...I think I got a B on it if I'm lucky...prolly a high C.

Good book. I really liked it.

I loved this book...I could actually identify with Holden...plus it was the first test I had in high school so that was pretty cool =/

i liked that book. yeah when people dont get it they dont really like the book

I understood the message behind Brave New World...but I didn't like it. I think it is possible for people to understand something, but not necessarily proclaim it as a favorite.

I'm sure people in my class understood the message in Beloved, but a ton of people in my class did not like that book. It is all a matter of opinion.

i love catcher in the rye

Only book I enjoy reading in high school.

Read the book twice! It's one of those books I hope ISN'T made into a movie.

This book started off with a lot of potential but just went down the tubes for me. And if you ask me, Holden is the one that is phony, he is a two-faced person 'cuz he changes his attitude for every person he encounters.

I loved this book.

No you didn't.

The Catcher in the Rye rocks. Definitely one of my favorite books in all literature. Right behind though is Catch-22, now there's a book.

catch-22 is pretty funny....i didnt identify with holden, which i suppose is why i didnt enjoy the book much. he aggravated me, with him calling everyone phonies and fakes and meanwhile, he's showing a pretty good example for what you should be by flunking school, etc. i really dont see why we should waste our life moaning about everyone else and making your own life low.

ah... i think that was kind of the point... he is completely caught up in trying to figure out if people are phonies, and he himself is an 'expert lier'...
I finished the book earlier today <3 <3

One of the few books in hs that I have read and actually enjoyed. Others are the perks of being a wall flower and night. Catch in the Rye is definitly as great as people say it is.

I found the repetition a little overbearing... I thought that maybe that element of it at least could have been done better. I esp. liked life of pi
and slaughter house 5, though I liked slapstick better...
and other books, I am often agreeable with english books - usually

Enjoyable but NOT the GREATEST book in literature by far

I heard some crazy #$!* about Salinger living as a hermit deep in the New Hampshire or Vermont woods...My class wrote a letter to him after we read the book. I wonder if he got it...

it was bearable. which was very good for a school book. still, didn't identify with holden too much either. i found teh death of allie to be the source of his pessimism unconvincing.

Brave new world is my favorite school book. no contest.
my favorite in literature would be...The Great Gatsby
