anyone who got into huntsman DOES NOT SUCK! don't ever think that...

Penn isn't as good as HYPSMC? Penn and Brown are "only" as good as WUStl, USC, and Berkeley (not that they are bad schools). Once again, educate yourself: http://www.collegeconfidential.com/...ow.cgi?757/9364

Catch, we can be glad that in the eyes of people that matter (and people who base their decisions on more than a name), Penn is on the same caliber as HYPSMC etc. I swear, people think that the rankings of 20 years ago apply to today and they also think that because a school is named after a state it doesn't dominate. The vast majority of those who say that penn is a safety or match will be in for a surprise.

oh no, i'm scared stoned panda

Nobody's trying to scare you...I actually wish you the best of luck that you get into HYPMS, because if Penn's a "safety" in your book, then you should have no problem getting into one of the "top" schools, meaning...I would NEVER have to sit in the same classrooom with you!! It's a win-win situation! So...good luck guys...really, for the sakes of all of us.

Pandy, I can't tell you how many times have Penn been bashed on this board, I guess the only kids who go to Penn are the ones who appreciate it, and that's fine with me. :)

Hao^2: Apparently, I do suck, because, according to ppl, I only got into a "program" in a "safety school"...that means I am only slightly ABOVE mediocre. Yay for the avg. Huntsman kids! Hooray!

I cannot agree with your sentiments more catch 22 I wish u the best of luck as well

It's aight. I got all the luck I need...Penn Huntsman '09...and I would have gladly sacrificed ANY college for Penn.

hmm wouldnt it be so ironic if we ended up in the huntsman program, (I would have to decide to go to penn for that to happen)

that would actually mean they have to accept you...into the program first.

it's nice to see that somehow my entire post was somehow transformed by you into a threat (it's interesting how you interpreted that last statement as such). something tells me that the only leg you have to stand on is made out of your preconceived notions (that are wrong!).

same for u too(unless you're in)

stoned panda-you crack me up

I wouldn't be so cocky if I were you, Sempitern555...seeing your Stats, I was expecting to find some genius/4000/Val/great ECs...1440 800/750/750 with a 4.22 is not what I call impressive or even great or even "good" for Penn...O.o. But I guess confidence is a good thing...

maybe I consider penn a safety because i have so little enthusiasm for it. I applied cause my math tutor reccomended it( I think only becase her son goes there) and I am somewhat indiferent to the school. It would be nice if I got in but I'm not going to be jumping off the walls in ecstasy like I would if I got in to HYPS or Brown or Dartmouth or Duke or Georgetown

btw you obviously have a lot of pride about your school b/c you got in.

Good,

now stop trying to prove that you are better than me. Such arrogance is unbecoming. Maybe the student body is another reason for my indifference to penn

Penn is on par with Georgetown though. It's not Georgetown is so much better than Penn. They are about equal.

In which post did I seem to try to prove that I am better than you? Arrogance? Talk about irony! If I recall correctly, YOU are the one that was saying how Penn was a friggin' Match/Safety!!?!?!?

My kid is attending an elite prep school with full financial aid and is in 10th grade. He is very keen to attend the Huntsman or Wharton program provided he gets admitted. He is taking the hardest course load like AP BC Calc, AP Chem and AP European History. Next year he will take the AP Chem, Linear algebra and AP US History. He is ranked maybe in top 10% (guess, we do not have any proof). So far he has 1490 in SAT in junior high, 800 in Math IIC and 231 in PSAT in 10th grade. Recently he has won a scholarship, which will pay for his summer enrichment up to $5000 for each 10th grade summer as well as 11th grade summer.

Do you think attending a business leadership program is good way to spend summer?

Do you think it is wiser to do a summer language immersion, as he can certainly improve his language skills?

Any other suggestion you might have

i have to conclude that the people who bash the College at penn are ignorant and suck at life. (haha yes i m actualy saying that) i love penn ridiculous and there's a misconception that the kids who go to college are not quite as qualified as huntsman/wharton whatever. i know plenty of kids that are amazingly talented and absolute GENIUSES that are in the college and i'm friends with M&T kids that in high school weren't as academically strong as I am now...it really depends on what you want to do. For example, my good friend in the college... Double majored in English/Psych, minor in music, fluency certificate in french... know where he's going? HARVARD LAW
clearly... it's what u make out of your undergraduate school that matters. and wharton is replete with legacies, and co cky rich kids. and i'd say it contributes to the anti-intellectual atmosphere at penn and many brilliant people aren't exactly stimulated by the prospect of a business degree ( i know i'm not) and to the kid who said they wouldn't be jumping up and down for penn but would go insane if they heard from duke or georgetown?? u are so deluded!!! and dont deserve penn!!!

SEVEN MONTHS UNTIL I LIVE IN THE QUAD!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOooooo
((bc i am sending cookies with my housing form))

I'm going to the college next year and I didn't consider wharton at all. I hate buisness.

I chose Penn because its awesome in zee social sciences.

7 months until I live in a highrise! (I'm sending prostitutes with my housing form)

one time, when i was in third grade i heard my third grade teacher talking about existentialism and crazy stuff like epistemological limits. i laughed too.

I the prostitute, shall not hide.
