Maybe NYSmile should apply for a job in the admissions office, being so genuinely interested in the school :)

Perhaps no one has required medical attention for the reported assaults, however I would inquire as to how many times an ambulance or emergency personal has been called to the campus for other reasons. I have been told this happens regularly, more so than on other campuses.

My sister graduated UR in 2009. Nothing like this ever happened during the four years she attended. The campus was always very, very safe! The only frightening thing was the midnight tickler. He entered girls’ unlocked apartments, felt their legs and then ran away. This went on for the entire four years she was at school. Apparently he is back, only now, he entered a locked apartment, so they changed all the locks in the Forest Apartments. As I consider my college choices, my parents are also concerned about all the recent crime on campus. Richmond is a dangerous city. I think the assailants are not students but probably a group of city kids who feel that the Richmond kids are privileged and make easy targets. The school has its own police force, up to now all they did was harass underage drinkers who attended parties on campus (thus causing them to drink off campus…great idea!) This is a small campus and the crimes seem to occur in the same areas every time, it should not be that difficult to catch these people….JMO

I will add to tribegirl09’s comments and say our daughter is a sophomore and feels completely safe. The incident with the car windows ended in an arrest of several freshman students, which was a surprise. They are no longer at UR. Yes, Richmond may be a dangerous town, but it is a good 10 miles away, so it really has little or no bearing on campus safety. The campus is in a very nice part of town, and the Country Club of Richmond (golf course) borders part of the campus.

More campus violence:

Oct. 30, 3:39 a.m. A Massachusetts license plate, valued at $20, was bent in the 600 block of the apartments.

Be careful out there! I’m surprised NYSmile missed this one…
