Crack
Weed
Hundred dollar bills in non sequential order
Weapons

My stuff:

Laptop
1 notebook per class-with the folder space at the front, so I don’t have to lug extra folders
Pens
Calculator
Planner
Wallet, keys, phone
Water bottle
Flash drive

1) I very rarely take my laptop to class. Some of my professors prohibit it, and it just makes it far too easy to get distracted during class.
2) I usually carry:

-Phone
-Wallet
-Dorm key
-Pens & Pencils
-Notebook
-Binder (for handouts, syllabi, etc.)
-Any necessary books (I don’t usually have to bring textbooks to class. Normally if I have to bring a book, it’s a supplementary text for discussion.)
-Calculator (for math/science related classes)
-Water bottle (I have one of those reusable hard plastic ones)

I carry a biner with paper, handouts, pen, pencil, and maybe a highlighter. For some classes I take a calculator. You will usually be able to tell if you need to take your book to class. I’ve only had 1-2 classes in my whole college career that I’ve needed my book in class for.

oh and i use a regular backpack not one of the laptop ones.
they hold soooo much more and dont look dweeby.
i suggest a north face one. they will last forever.

^ Yeah somebody already said that. Original thought…

So… random and sort of off topic, but what is a response clicker used for? What does it DO?

^when profs. ask the class a question everyone hits the button corresponding to whatever they think the answer is and the poll is usually shown on a screen. I think i’ve maybe used a book in only one of my classes before, I usually don’t take them to class. Also if you have time between classes you won’t have to carry everything all day.
so at the most in my bag:

2 binders and a notebook

pens/pencils

snack

phone

yup that pretty much sums it up

It basically looks like a really simple remote, if that helps.

What was in my backpack:
notebooks, depending on the class and day
pens
a mechanical pencil
TI-84
dayplanner
hat
flashlight
laser pointer
snacks
water bottle
deck of cards
depending on the class, a textbook

And then I had my wallet, keys, and cellphone in my pockets

Notebooks/binders/folders for the right classes
Pen/pencil/highlighter
Graphing calculator depending on the class
Wallet + student ID
Books (for humanities classes)
Umbrella for bad weather
Bagged lunch (when I don’t have a lunch break between classes)

I hardly ever bring science and math textbooks to class, since there’s just no need for them. My professors never really lectured directly from the textbook. I just read the pertinent chapters before or after class. I also never bring my laptop to class (unless, say, my registration period is during class). It’s not helpful for science classes where I might have to draw diagrams and copy down equations, and in humanities classes, unless we’re all gathered round a conference table, the desks are usually too small for a laptop and the book we’re discussing. I really hate the desks attached to chairs. At my school, they look like medieval torture devices. If I ever bring my laptop anywhere, I have a separate padded case. I don’t think a backpack/tote specifically designed for laptops is necessary as long as you have a case.

Notebook and pen. That’s all you need.
