The conversation between my rec teacher and me

Omegaz (nervously): Would you be willing to write me a recommendation letter?

Teacher: It depends... When do you need it by?

Omegaz: A month later.

Teacher: Oh, that should be fine. I need you to remind me a week later in case I forget.

Omegaz: All right, thank you very much!

What do you guys think?

Sounds pretty normal, what’s your concern??

Sounds normal.

Well, he hesitated for a while by saying “it depends.”

Probably because you’re asking pretty last minute…he/she probably knows aboutall the deadlines coming up and was afraid you were asking for one due in like five days

It just sounds like he’s a busy guy and was afraid you might need it by tomorrow or something. No big deal.

^Agree, the “it depends” was in regard to the timing, as he then stated, not to his concern about writing a LOR for you. You’re fine :).

yah. pretty normal. the it depends as everybody else said was just time. i’ve known kids who are like “i need a letter of rec” and it was due that day … O.o. so he was just making sure, it is not a big deal.

lmao seems like a normal convo

Thanks guys!

Don’t worry, I had a similar conversation with my history teacher for these recommendations. He had mine sent out (I used the common app) the next day. I promise, you’re fine.

Sounds more like the teacher was referring to time frame.
