The COUNTDOWN to EA decisions

mesotired9, I have a concert to play that night too. I'm a little worried about how that'll be if I don't get in, so they better put it up early so I have time before the concert to calm down, either way.

I think I have a final that day...

I have a final on that day too, which ends at 12 pm. After that, I plan to sit in my school's library for 2 hours pressing F5 repeatedly until i find out.

Why would you stay in school? I definitely wanna be alone when I press that button...

i prolly will be alone tho. My school is basically empty the minute finals are over.

guess what I'm doing the day it comes out... okay... so say we get our results at like 4 -5 ish, right? At 6 my principal has invited me to join her at the state superintendent's meeting where they are going to "honor" me for some research I've been doing. Wouldn't it be lovely if I got rejected and then had to go hear ppl talk about how awesome I am?

I know I just can't stand appreciation.

wow that would be so awkward. "Mr. Superintendent, here is AcidDango, one of our finest students who conducted this high caliber research. He even applied to Yale, and we're damn sure he'll get in" Hopefully, u can respond "You're damn right" :)

Ahh AcidDango, that must be so nerve-wracking!! My boyfriend and one of my good friends and neighbors (she's a junior) have both called dibs on being with me when I check online, so I will have a two person support system for the bad news/good news.

I have a cappella rehearsal after school till four that day... I want to run in the music office every five minutes and check to see if it's up, but my mom wants to be with me. And anyhow, if I find out I didn't get in, I wouldn't want to go back to rehearsal (my director drives me crazy !!!! he can be really stupid and I wouldn't want him to see me upset).

My new plan is to check CC right after rehearsal to see if it's up. If it is, we go straight home so I can check. If it isn't, we stop and get chocolate, because I'll need it no matter what happens. Anyone else a Tootsie Roll fanatic?

haha actually i might end up doing that sarelieva. Instead of checking the CollegeBoard for SAT scores in the past, I ALWAYS end up checking CC first, and when the first poster says "THEY'RE UP!", that's when i check.

haha, I just tried to sign into that site, but of course I forgot the password...

i think i'm gonna tell everyone who applied early somewhere to bring some ben & jerry's to school on the 16th so that way we can have a mass celebration/consolation
but i cant figure out where i want to be when i check

do people at your school do stuff the day after they find out to show it? at mine, if they're accepted, they'll wear the shirt or sweatshirt or whatever and bring in sweets. if not...sometimes they don't come in, or they just look very glum.

I don't think I'll go to school on the 16th whether or not it's good/bad

no one does anything at my school when they get it. they consider it very declasse to wear college sweats, esp. if you get in cuz its kind of rubbing it in. the only college sweats i wear are some to a school im not at all applying to, and i still get looks, lol.

i agree with you, it seems sort of mean to me. but i do think id bring in brownies or something, if not for classmates, then at least for the teachers who helped me out.

If I get in I might make the hour and half drive up to New Haven to buy myself some Yale clothes for Christmas. But I'm just a jerk like that.

now brownies are a whole other story... but i'm an awful cook, i;d even mess up the betty crocker ones...
;)

yeah, im TERRIBLE. i made cake once with a box mix, and it was all watery and gross. so i'll probably bring either a) a four star bar (best chocolate ever) with a little ribbon on it or b) a nice book for them. even if i DON'T get in, to thank them for the 12 other recs they're going to have to send out.
