The Wesleyan crest makes a terrific soccer, lacrosse or field hockey jersey. According heraldic legend, pilgrims to the Holy Land often brought back scallop shells as souvenirs (dating from when much of what are now Spain and Portugal were below sea level.) The scallop shell thus became a symbol for anyone who traveled widely, as John Wesley certainly did in spreading Methodism throughout Great Britain.

The Amherst and Williams (and Bowdoin, if memory serves) sealcrests are very similar in that all three feature a huge sun with piercing rays overhead, no doubt to remind them that winter is only ten months old in their neck of the woods.

Ahh I just read that it was the Wesley family's Coat of Arms..sounds cool. Anyway, I think it looks pretty good. What do we think about the "cardinals"? and the colors? Heh I love em, just looking for everyone else's take? At least it's not puuuuuurple (amherst and williams)!!!
