OK So I got a 690 in Oct on CR. I retook it in June. Got a 680. I now feel so angry (especially since I know I made one stupid mistake in Oct which would have landed me a 700). I mainly retook the SAT to boost my 690 to a 700...but its only 10 pts. Do colleges see this or do they fall prey to the psychological effect that a 690 brings (mainly a negative effect). Also I got an 800 on Math in Oct and b/c of the 690 I got a 1490....10 points away from a 700 and a 1500....

i am no expert, but i don't think they will accept/deny you just because of the 10 pts difference.

10 points is 10 points. don't even think about retaking, it's not worth it.

It means nothing.

I remember reading something in which MIT explicitly said (paraphrased), "Anything with a 7 in front of it is generally good, but sometimes scores with a 6 in front are good enough too."

I'm in your position, except CR-800 and M-690. Personally, I'm going to study because math is study-able.

don't worry about it...I was wondering the same thing last yea when I got a 690 in Physics -- but in the end still got offers from YPS -- so I don't think it really made a difference
