Dc89 What did your friends facebook say?Is your friend international?
Ampersand did your mom or dad call first. My S has been in a show this week, but he is flipping out, as am I! Let's try to share info to help each other and best of look to everyone here!

I'm guessing that dc89's friend might work in the admissions office, but I don't know that for sure. That's just a guess based on the fact that I know someone who worked there last year and was involved in helping get letters ready to be sent out.

If letters were sent out today, I would imagine that people in the surrounding New York area and in Connecticut (if not other parts of New England & even New Jersey) could hear as early as tomorrow. I live an hour and a half from Vassar and got my letter the day after it was sent (regular decision) a couple of years ago. Oh, and Mindy, to answer your earlier question... I have not heard anything about the letters being sent out yet on campus. Last year the Miscellany News (school paper) published a brief article about admissions right about when the ED letters were sent out; however, I haven't seen one up on their site yet this year.

I dont know who called first exactly. They called within five minutes of each other, so I dont think it really matters.

Oh no, it was a senior friend whose FB status said, like, "So-and-so saw the dean of admissions mailing out Class of 2013 admissions letters today and realized how old she is."

Thanks for the info, it takes a village , you all are so great . It really helps allay some of the nervousness to know that things are moving. Anyway best luck to everyone and a special thanks to the wonderful Vassar students who are willing to help sort things out with prospective (and I hope
maybe eventual) students (and their moms)

I am international and I haven't recieved an email yet, if that helps you guys. Going feverish with worries and can't concentrate in anything anymore.

Best of luck to all who are waiting from a Vassar mom.

Thanks astrophoenix. It seems like there is conflicting info...but mother time will take care of it all in a few short days. It would be helpful if you will let us know when you get the e-mail. I am guessing the office is closed so you are in the monday boat with the rest of us.At this point nervous is the norm. Good look!

I got my letter in the mail today, so they have definitely been sent out!
I live about an hour and a half from Vassar.

congrats chocoholic! i waited for my mail man, even though i knew it was pretty unlikely. nothing today for me though. hoping for monday.

congrats chocoholic1091! btw can you share your stats?

thanks :)

I posted my stats on the ED decision thread.

What else was in the envelope, besides the acceptance letter?

I just got the acceptance letter and an envelope to send the deposit in.
The letter said that housing information would come in May.
The first two words of the letter were "You're in!" which I found to be very exciting :)

Congrats chocoholic1091 :)
No emails yet. If I get one I will let you guys know.

congrats chocoholic!

I'm an international - and I've got no email yet :( . . I can't function. Wasn't the email notification supposed to come first? Is this an omen? o_O

Chocoholic, if you don't mind me asking, was your acceptance letter in a big or regular sized envelope?!?!?!

Of course, I am just speculating here...but it does seems that this year things have been done a bit differently. It does seem that a few letters did trickle out on Friday, but the bulk will probably be mailed on Monday. I just think there would be way more activity on this thread if all letters had been mailed! Like littleatheist said there hasn't been that big announcement this year like in previous years, when all letters did go out at the same time. There could be so many different factors involved like whether there needed to be a coordination between admissions and financial aid, and then obviously your location...so those of you haven't received anything yet there is no omen! But, basically I really don't know anything. LOL

My guess is hat they sent out all the letters on saturday, but only people who like less than 2 hours away got them because the post office is only open until around 2 on saturdays. Plus, yesterday the post office was closed, so I'm assuming that the majority of applicants will get their letters tomorrow.

groove - my letter was in a big envelope
