how close are wg young hall and SMB? i was thinking about taking chem 20AH and AA 10 but theres only ten minutes between the classes. i would prefer not to sprint...

if they are reasonably far away, can anyone suggest a GE class from anything other than visual/perf arts or science? something easy with not much writing is what im looking for.

anybody taken anthro 7 with silk, j.b.? i took it last winter quarter with manson but dropped halfway through and am thinking about trying it again since its a new professor, since it wasn't totally hard the first time

or has anybody taken anthro 9 with bays? that could also be a possibility, even though its final is on the same day as my ee1 final...but its a great schedule other than that lol

you had manson for anthro 7 and dropped? dude, i NEVER went to class and still got an A. granted the video lectures were online at that point. but yeah, it was boring.

ya it wasn't that it was too hard, i was just taking cs 32/physics 1a/math 32b at the same time and felt like it was taking up too much time/effort that i could be spending on my cs projects etc

but anyways so does anyone know about anthro 9 or silk?

What's a good recommendation for a GE that contains Writing II credit?

Aside from Hist2C, what's another recommendation for Historical Analysis?

What's one recommendation for Social Analysis? (I don't dig social analysis that much).

Has anyone taken history of Asian Americans (10) with Camacho? I checked Bruinwalk, but he wasn't on there. And I'm a psychobio major and if I take only a GE< math 3c, and chem 14 b for winter quarter, does that seem too little or should i also take 14bl? Thanks!

English 10A (MWF 10-10:50, F 12-12:50)
GE CLST 21B (MW 2-3:15, R 9-10;50)

Since those are both writing and reading intensive (especially reading), I want a GE without a lot of that. I figured a science. I'm most interested in A&O 3 and Ling 1, but neither fits with my schedule so I'll wait for those two. No interesting music ones this quarter (I'm waiting for the art of listening ;-)). I could use a social/historical analysis one (I want one of the religion ones), but that's be reading for sure, and history (I already have HMT). I don't know if it'd be a good idea to try an education class?

earthquakes (earth and space science 8) fits, and it's one that several band members might take since a former trombone is TAing.

i'm taking near eastern languages 50b (origins of christianity, judaism, and islam), which would also fit unless you were planning to do symphonic band.

education classes are cool, they're a bit of a pain to get into but definitely worth it if you're thinking about the minor. i've taken 128 (adolescent development) and am in 129 (education and law). both are laid-back seminars, really chill, really easy.

Do you think any of those would overwhelm my schedule with reading? I don't know if you've taken Engl 10A, but I keep hearing the professor (Kipling) assigns a [boatload] of reading.

How's a four-hour seminar feel? That's what 128 is, and I thought it looked interesting. It wouldn't work this quarter, though.

i highly doubt earthquakes would. NEL 50b might, since it's religion and analysis and all, but it looks really interesting and i've always been meaning to take it so i'm not passing it up this time.

never have taken 10A, but i do recall HMT quite well... however, this quarter between 4 classes i too have a boatload of reading, but it's all interesting, so i don't mind.

also, 128 was scheduled for 4 hours but we NEVER took the entire time except at the end of the quarter with our presentations. most of those classes won't go the entire time. 129 does, but that's because it's 2 hours twice a week. looks like taylor is teaching 128 again (that's who i had). very very chill class. in all honesty, however, you don't learn that much.

Thanks so much! I really want to take NEL 50B, and the Bruinwalk reviews are great, but I'm worried about the reading and essay load for three classes. I'll definitely take this class, but maybe not this quarter. I'll check out the earthquakes one now. No reviews for the professor, Boyce, unfortunately.
