I have an iPhone 7 so it’s been awhile since I’ve shopped for a new phone.
Husband and I need new phones. We decided to switch to T-Mobile. My husband has had a work phone that he used as his personal phone but now needs a personal phone. T-Mobile has a promotion buy one get one free.
So off we go, order 2 new iPhone 13 pro max. He likes the bigger phone, I hope I do also. We thought the phone we bought was going to ship immediately but the confirmation email says 4-6 weeks before it ships.
The costs so far
Activation fee
Sales tax
Apple Care +
Apple changed the charging system so I need to buy a USB C plug in
Converters for my USB car ports
New charging cords as we have them in our cars, all over the house.
Cases
Screen protectors.
Right now I have $124 in my Amazon cart just for the USB-C chargers, converters and cases!
But now that I have the essentials covered, I think? What other accessories are nice to have with the new iPhone?
What is this? I have an iPhone with the C connector. The cord has a USB regular on one end which plugs into the car…and a C connector on the other end which plugs into the phone.
I upgraded from X to 13 pro, didn’t have to have any chargers or converters. I didn’t get the apple care and asked att to waive the activation fee. The new phone didn’t cost me much because ATT gave me 800 credit for my trade in.
You should get a cover for your phone. It’s around 15.
I was in the store yesterday ogling the iPhone 13 pro max. LOL Very nice upgrade from the 7.
Compared to the 7, you will now have capability for wireless charging. But no one in my family uses wireless charging because the USB C fast charging is so fast.
And since the 13 still has the lightning port, your old chargers should work. They just won’t give you fast charging. You only need the usb c power brick and the usb c cable (included with the phone?) to enable the fast charging.
I don’t know of anyone that hasn’t loved the larger screen. The women in my family like the Pop Sockets for helping them handle the phone.
I am thrilled that I posted here. Great information.
I couldn’t charge my 7 with my bil’s USB-C charger so I thought it wouldn’t work the opposite way. Thrilled to know that I don’t have to reinvent the wheel so to speak.
I didn’t think of all the extra charges with new phones until we actually took the plunge.
Wish I had thought to ask T-Mobile to waive the activation fee.
