the extra essay for gallatin

For Gallatin, how are we supposed to send in the extra essay? Are we supposed to email admissions with an attachment? How much time do we have after we submitted the commonapp to provide them with extra supplment?

The commonapp lets you create alternate versions of your application to send out to specific universities.
What I did was, I created a nyu version of the common app and attached the extra essay in my additional information part of the writing portion. Too late for that I guess, I would contact a Gallatin admissions rep, they might let you email it.

since you’ve probably already submitted the commonapp, i would mail the essay in. the lady i emailed about it back in october said to mail it in and they would just add it to the file.

Thank you guys so much

I don’t understand what this is in reference to. Isn’t the “longer” essay under the writing part on the commonapp? I know there are supplements as well but I’ve read a few things where people talk about the “extra” or “longer” essay required for Gallatin. What are all these in reference to then…?

It’s not necessarily required- I sure as hell didn’t do it and I still got in- but from what I understand gallatin is a non-traditional and very individual-focused program and gallatin wants to give applicants a chance to plead their case more specifically(also a chance to discuss what you want to concentrate in). It’s basically an expansion on the first supplemental.
