I found out that it takes 3 days after the decision has been made for it to appear on line. We are trying to put the anticipation out of our heads but it is hard not to :-) Anyone want to share your thoughts ?

My daughter is still waiting to hear from Penn State. She sent all her information in by early September, so it has been a long wait. There are still some kids at her school who haven't heard from PSU.

As with their normal procedure, the really high stat kids at her school have been accepted. The lower stat kids have been assigned branch campuses, and those in the middle must wait until the bitter end. I know there are exceptions, and many students with high stats haven't heard yet, but it seems to be the norm.

It is going to be a looooong two weeks. Best of luck to you!!

It is frustrating. I'm terribly average and out-of-state, boo. : ( I'm hoping for the best, but for the moment, it seems like the worst for those of us "on the bubble."

I am STILL waiting.
I applied on October 23rd.
A bunch of people I know who applied after me & have lower stats all got in.
Gah, so frustrated.

same here retrooo I applied on oct 21... and most people i know that got in have way lower stats...but i think its because of the business school

check your online status, i got my decision through there about 5 minutes ago

DU50MH, did you get accepted? I just checked my daughter's and still no change....

no change here

no change here either

No change here. By the way, I sent in my application October 4th.

Jeez, I applied only on November 28th, and I (luckily) got a decision, already. I feel for you guys; I'd be really, really, really frustrated, too. I had no idea PSU did this. =/

And you're out of state, too! I dunno, maybe I just didn't show enough interest. I couldn't exactly interview. But I did write something clever for my extra info about blogging being a good EC, so maybe that will prove I'm a smartiepants even with an 88.4ish GPA?

Blah, I didn't even interview OR write a personal statement. But I'm crossing my fingers for you! I've heard good things about people who have used extensive blogging/web designing/etc as an EC, so it was definitely a good decision to include that.

Still no change.
I swear, I like live at the status site.

don't worry, they don't do interviews anyway. and skullduggery, i'm right there with ya. very very average student here too. i'm hoping for summer..but it seems to be a bad year for those of us on the cusp...so many over qualified applicants. it sucks because you know a lot of those people applied as their backup and have no intentions of going there..which takes our spot! haha i know someone who was in that position and called them to say she wasn't going so that someone like you or me could have her place.

is there any way we would still hear after january 31st even if you applied before the deadline?

i have contacted psu undergrad admissions and they have ASSURED ME THAT BEYOND ALL REASON they WILL give notifications to all of us who applied by the November 30th priority deadline by the 31st of January. I am applying as a business student and for those of you out there who are like me, above average stats/ PSU as a safety, the HIGH majority of business notifications have not gone out because Smeal applications are very slow to be processed (perhaps someone could share insight on why this is, as I did not ask) and does not even start reading applications until long after most colleges do, according to admissions. They told me I will definately find out in the next two weeks, so dont worry. Good luck to all!

i hate to say this, but the days of psu being a saftey is kind of over... except maybe if you are applying to ivies or close to that. it's been like this for a few years now. my d told her guidance counselor that she was using it as a safety and the counselor gave her the heads up it is not so. i understand if your stats are above average and you are accepted...it would be great school to attend, especially if you are in state. more bang for the buck :-)

you know psualum80, i am beginning to agree with you on the upward trend of applicants. this being an outstanding football year only hurts as well (this weighs a lot actually). with that being said however, I have NEVER heard of a 1300 with 4.0 + being denied from UP...now that I ve said that, I'm sure the only one will post here (lol), but I have not seen that

so do you guys think smeal applicants will be harder to get accepted? i applied as a actuarial science major, and they put that major as part of smeal's

Except for some special majors like golf management or the accelerated pre-med/Jefferson med program, youre just judged by the college's standards, so I think you would be in the same group of all the other business applicants that listed things like marketing as their major.
