The finest scenes in movies

From Working Girl:

[Cyn ] Sometimes I sing and dance around the house in my underwear. Doesn’t make me Madonna. Never will.

And somewhere out there is a young lady who I think—will never be a nun.

As an opening scene, Top Gun is great, but I think the opening scene of Working Girl is just so evocative (and stunning camera work): 'Working Girl' (opening credits, 1988) - YouTube

I’m betting a lot of you haven’t seen this movie. It’s a wonderful film and this scene is one of my favorites. From Biloxi Blues, Christopher Walken is brilliant:

Heavens, I forgot about this thread, but it brings back tons of memories! All good…

One that I forgot to mention (but the movie is mentioned upthread) is the very last 10 minutes or so of “Pulp Fiction.”

I am generally not a huge fan of Quentin Tarantino, but “Pulp Fiction” is just an amazing movie in so many different ways. If this was all Tarantino did in his career, he rightfully would be considered a great director.

As great as the entire movie is, the last scene is simply incredible. Samuel L. Jackson’s tour de force acting is brilliant beyond anything I can really describe. He goes from angry to funny to tough to philosophical to religious and back and forth during these few minutes (as he is in a “transitional period”).

I cannot praise this scene enough or Jackson’s astounding performance that has got to rate as one of the finest movie scenes of all time.

I would post the video, but it has some naughty words. I can’t risk a ToS violation!

But look it up if you haven’t seen it. If you have seen it, it is as fresh, vibrant, and brilliant now, as it was nearly 30 years ago on initial release.

I always think of Biloxi Blues when it is hot. ‘Africa HOT.’

The robot sentry scene in Aliens. But for whatever reason, the best parts of the scene were cut from the regular movie release, so you have to see the director’s cut to see the whole scene.

Just don’t say “What?” again. Jackson stole the show.

Don’t know if anyone has already posted this but - the scene in My Best Friends Wedding where they sing “I Say A Little Prayer (for you)”

One of the last scenes in Inglorious Basterds (sic) where Col. Landa tries to change sides and save himself is the best! In return he makes demands:

COL.LANDA
In fact, I want all the members of
“Operation Kino” to receive the
congregational medal of honor. Full
citizenship for myself - but that
goes without saying. And I would
like the United States of America to
purchase property for me on
Nantuckett island, as a reward for
all the countless lives I’ve saved
by bringing the tyranny of the
National Socialist party to a
swifter then imanged end. Do you
have all that, sir?

I watched the film in a theater on Nantucket and the audience fell apart with laughter when Landa demanded a house on the island!!!
