The Fury of the Muslim World-Mohammed Cariacatures

trance>I bet in everkingly's mind imperfect spelling is worse compared to having narrow minded views. hahahahaha

I would not rule out the possibility.

Friggin Darwin, I wish he never existed. Even he admitted to that evolution was fake in his death bed.

"Whoever your "lots of muslim friends" are who you debate it have no idea about Islam to refute your false accusations."
"I agree. Either they're imaginary, or they're just plain dumb Muslims. And I cant believe YOU would even debate a Muslim over THEIR own religion!"
Don't insult my Muslim friends because they are not present to defend themselves and it is cowardly to insult them if they are not present to refute your dumb remarks. My friends probably have a greater understanding of Islam than you have demonstrated on this forum. They are so comfortable with their faith as I am with my own that we have absolutely no problems in discussing and debating them. Maybe, you have not reached that level and are insecure with your own religious beliefs. I don't know.

LOL. Talk about some accusation.

There is plenty of scientific evidence out there pointing to evolution.

JamesN: Where have you heard that Darwin claimed that evolution was false on his death bed. Is this another one of your conspiracy theories?

everkingly> If you used any of those justifications you provided in this thread to debate with your friends, I dont know what type of knowledge they have on Islam to not point out the obvious lies in them.

BTW> I have already noted I am agnostic previously in this thread (from a Muslim family).

Why is everyone saying that I am narrow-minded when, for the most part, I have agreed with some of the more moderate Muslim people on this thread (like hairypotty).

"everkingly> If you used any of those justifications you provided in this thread to debate with your friends, I dont know what type of knowledge they have on Islam to not point out the obvious lies in them.

BTW if you read I noted that I am agnostic (from a Muslim family)."

I apologize for not taking note that you are indeed agnostic. Again, I would rather not have you insult the intelligence of my friends when they are not present to defend themselves. It's just very cowardly to do.

Open mindedness requires an acceptance of the possibility that your beliefs, faith, and assumptions are not categorically true. Openmindedness requires use of factual information...requires a disuse of ad hominem attacks...and a disuse of clinging to trivialities.

So,Trancestorm have you started that new thread of Christian history. I can't wait to tear your statements apart.

You cannot present their viewpoint, which is right now hearsay, and expect that it not be critisized. He is questioning the assumptions and basis of your knowledge. If you do not want your friends attacked, do not employ them to advance your argument. That which you bring up is subject to being attacked...this is how it is for a court of law as well. Prosecution cannot summon a witness to develop his/her points without a cross examination.

Trancestorm: It's funny that you mention all those characteristics that happen to be aimed exclusively at me. I am not the one that has made overgeneralizations. I guess you just would rather drill it in hard against the Christian because of possible bad experiences with Christians than to also attack guguru and JamesN who have all made overgeneralizations

Post in the god thread. And present your initial view....that christianity was good for the Aztecs/Mayans because it civilized them. I may have spelled meztitos wrong, but you have not talked ONCE about the encomienda...then call christianity beneficial to Aztecs

Trancestorm: Since you have come in the middle of this debate without having fully explored all of the posts, I will enlighten you. I only ever mentioned my Muslim friends when several debaters on this thread questioned me regarding whether or not I knew any Muslims or had any Muslim friends.

Would you disagree with any of my characterizations?

I challenged you when you called my arguments illogical to come up with one example of it..throughout anything that I have ever said. I am still waiting for that. Or have you conceded that you spoke erroneously in calling me illogical?

In addition, I never said that my Muslim friends agreed with my beliefs or thought. I simply stated that we discussed Islam, Christianity and a multitude of other religions, philosophies and atheist viewpoints.

Talk about encomienda, talk about my lack of logic. Stand by your points and do not conveniently fail to address mine.

to see him evade these two points will be olympic level literary gymnastics.

"Open mindedness requires an acceptance of the possibility that your beliefs, faith, and assumptions are not categorically true. Openmindedness requires use of factual information...requires a disuse of ad hominem attacks...and a disuse of clinging to trivialities."

I am extremely openminded to the possibility that my beliefs are wrong (otherwise I would not debate so much about religion). In addition, if you read all of my posts you would see that I use numerous types of factual support. I sincerely apologize over the ad hominem attacks. I still believe that we should strive to prefect our spelling. What does my pet peeve of misspelling have anything to do with openmindedness?

I am more than willing to debate you regarding Christianity in the God forum but not today. I have to write an English term paper that compares and contrasts Steinbeck's "East of Eden" and "The Grapes of Wrath" (wish me luck). I'll debate you tomorrow and prove that your statements are overgeneralized and will offer factual evidence to invalidate your claims. Good-bye. I will no longer return to this thread. I greatly enjoyed this debate and we were really able to debate about numerous issues over a span of a few days.

literary gymnastics indeed...good luck on your paper, perhaps another day.

I look forward to seeing an attack on my logical base.
