hi! After being deferred from Cornell, I’m starting to look at other colleges (blessing in disguise?) anyways, Brown is a school that I’m looking into and I’ve got some questions.

What is Brown best known for education-wise? How is their biology program?

What about Brown makes it stand out? anything Quirky or related to ice cream?

What does Brown look for in a candidate (the things they don’t tell you on the website?)

Thanks in advance!!

The open curriculum. One of the best.

The open curriculum. Student diversity.

A diverse student body.

Hummm…too bad you’re only now looking elsewhere. Seems like you need to spend some time doing research, primary research, and then decide on your own. It’s wrong to tell you answers to your questions, when you need to discover these things on your own.

Oh, I’m asking for information that I can’t find anywhere other than here. the little things that would make me love the school rather than like. Also, I would like a starting point for the rest of my research.

Most of your questions have been asked and answered, numerous times, on this forum. I suggest that before you ask questions here, you start reading prior threads on this forum. I agree with limabeans that you are taking an easy approach, since everything you want to know is already here if you did some work.

Cornell and Brown are vastly different schools. Are you just interested in Ivies?

I don’t know about ice cream, but there is a Naked Donut Run. Brown is one of the quirkiest schools around, IMO.

that’s hilarious! That’s the stuff I’m kind of looking for.

If you’re looking for schools similar to Brown, I would look at Tufts. They have the same liberal-arts feel while being a research university. They also do a Naked Quad Run every spring during the last day of finals week.

so much naked in college!
