Reviving this since I just got back from visiting our new (first) grandson. He is 6 weeks old. Spent 5 days and it wasn’t enough. I think SW airlines is going to get a lot more of our money now

Our sweet grandson is here! He’s perfect and I just adore him. D and SIL are doing well and H, S, and I are enjoying every minute we get to spend with them. Blessed! D sends pictures quite often and attaches a little message. The last one said, “‘Baby’ just had his bath and is hoping for late afternoon visitors.”
Am now quietly tipoeing into this thread 
Possibly another one on the way. Keep your fingers crossed. This isn’t as easy for some as it is for others.

Yes, @alwaysamom. So true. My nephew and his dear wife are not able to have children. I know it is harder for them to share in the joy of their siblings and cousins who are more fortunate. Another niece and her husband have one child, but have had several miscarriages. We have learned to appreciate our blessings. As much as I would love more grandchildren, I know how blessed I am to have one and will send all good thoughts and wishes to those hoping to have children / grandchildren.
I have a week of staycation coming up soon, and am looking forward to spending a lot of time with D and GS. Hoping for nice weather so we can get out and take some walks. The jogging stroller is quite the piece of equipment and not to be confused with the regular stroller which is for indoor (mall, etc.) use. What? I hope I don’t use the wrong stroller for the occasion.

Hopefully I will be able to stay active in this thread the next 35 weeks! My DIL is what we refer to as a minute pregnant We will feel a bit better after her ultrasound in 2 weeks; keeping fingers crossed until then. The only reason we are privy to the information is she and my son are on a trip with us, and it would be obvious when she never had a drink the entire time
This will be a long 2 weeks, but one I am excited about.

What do you want to be (or what are you) called? My DS’s inlaws already have grandma/grandpa Firstname (they have 2 grandkids already)
Me, me, me!!! Count me in as one who is awaiting the birth of a grandchild. My daughter and son-in-law are expecting a baby due to arrive August 16th, exactly one week before my deceased husband’s birthday. The next ultrasound is scheduled for the 31st of this month, and we should know then whether it’s a girl or a boy! My grandma name will be Mimsy.
