They should call it a torturelist.

I’m pretty sure that there is a stipulation in the Geneva Conventions which forbids this kind of treatment

Yes, I will be glad when the wait is over. It is hard to totally plan for the future when the future is uncertain. Definitely by Friday our destiny will be decided. I say that like a student but I am just a parent hoping for the best for my son.

I actually find content in knowing that by Friday we will know for sure where we’re going next year (at least I’m hoping we’ll know). That’s something to look forward to, even if I’m not accepted.

I’ve been calm for quite a while. Then I hop on over to CC and get all jittery-nervous, like the rest of you. Thanks. At least there’s nothing we can do now but… wait…

How is everyone’s life post-AP?

Just to agree about the z-list, I was visiting a friend of mine at Harvard this weekend, and the only person I met off the z-list was like super-legacy on both sides of this family- his next best school was Middlebury.

@vikroz: It would be good except for the fact that I actually still have one lol. I had to miss my AP Art History exam last week, so I get to make it up on Thursday–the day before my senior prom and the day when I get officially rejected from Harvard. And now I am going to fail it because I will be thinking about Harvard throughout the entire test lol. Thursday will be one for the scrapbooks I suppose…

school has been pointless now that APs are over -_____-
I hope this upcoming week will go by fast…

im having real trouble because the dates for roommates are coming up and i dont want to lead someone on and then make him have to go searching all over again, it would be kinda ******y.

@gunther645 - you could always leave your phone on and check the caller-id if it rings to see if you got a call/message. If they called you, you can probably assume that you’re in. Or, you could try gcall1090’s “shabbos goy” technique. If you want to be really technical, if you leave the phone on you could probably justify answering it by comparing it to a transfer of fire (or electricity); that is why you can technically turn lights on (but not off) on chag (a very little known halachah). In any case, the decisions might not be out until Thursday anway according to fenwaylover. (Wow this post makes me feel Jewish lol)

At school our principal is enforcing a policy that requires teachers to continue to give us a good amount of work, even after AP tests. So I still have two more weeks of school. Too bad I’m not busy enough to make these next few days go by much faster.

I got so excited a few minutes ago, because I got an out-of-area call. I hoped there was a chance that admissions just lied to the callers.
But it was just a sales call, and I feel stupid.
With no AP tests, there are less distractions. I need to go watch tv to pass the time…

Is it true that AP credit is useless at Harvard unless one is applying for advanced standing? Shucks.

Hopefully the wait will be over this week

-Optimism!

I still have 3 AP exams left… stupid snow. and I can’t study for them because of this nervousness of waiting!!! i know I’ll probably be rejected but i still hope that another miracle happens… fingers crosseddd.

If only I could hibernate Tuesday and Wednesday days so that I don’t have to endure 2 more days of wasting time at school that I could be spending at work instead, which I would much rather do.

That was a very Jewish post lol. I still wouldn’t do anything except leave my phone on or possibly the shabbos goy technique. It is Harvard, but not the end of the world.

Hello all. I just found out that I am valedictorian of my class…is this so important that I should notify my regional admin?

Honestly lawyer101, it’s probably too late for this to have an effect, but I would go ahead and email it in just in case you’re one of the few cases they have left to decide.

@Boggler

Had they known about it earlier, do you think it could have had an effect?

I think we have said before that the main point of the waitlist is to plug holes in the class. Does you being the valedictorian fundamentally change you as a person? I think not. I don’t think it matters so much.
