ok, I'm takin summer courses at Stony Brook and currently living in a single room in West. Yea, it's summer, but it's cold and rainy outside and for some reason when I try to turn the heater on, there's no heat. It's just air being blown out of the heater. Yes, I switched to the "Heat" option, i'm not stupid. The AC works fine, but I want some heat :(

Do I have to wait for the heat to kick in and if so, how long? I've been waiting 10 minutes, and still no heat :(

i had the same problem. just leave it on the hottest option for a while and it should kick in eventually. if it doesnt kick in within 30 mins then see an RA.

I’m very curious (and I guess nosy too!) but I want to know if izzy’s suggestion worked??? It’s a bit warmer today on Long Island- I am 15 minutes away from Stony Brook. So maybe you don’t even need the heat anymore (and aren’t you glad the rain is gone too???).

lol no the method didn’t work. I think I left it on for almost an hour but no heat. Oh well, the sun is back so it doesn’t matter now. I just hope we don’t get any cold rainy days. I love the rain, but only when it’s warm out.
