The Housing Thread: NYU Class of 2013

I got my accept package yesterday, and it had a lot less information on housing than I thought.
I'm most likely going to opt for the cheapest choice, but since this is a pretty important decision, I thought it would be appropriate to consult strangers on the internet on their opinions.
Ex:
I am probably going to go with Hayden or Rubin because the packet they gave me said they have the cheapest rooms. I'm also no stranger to walking a mile to school everyday, so it's not a big deal.

What about y'all? and why?

can you list some options, im interested as well. how much exactly do they cost?

NYU > Department of Housing

it has price for all the options

if money is the issue, hayden, brittany, and rubin could be ur choices.

heyy..just a quick question..are the dorms coed??lol..since its like renting houses outside the school

twitty// well i havent gotten my package yet cuz i live in a country where it takes virtually forever anything to get through. NYU sent me a envelope about sth else on Nov.13th, and i got it yesterday, which is a month later. But i'm kinda hopin the package will come earlier than that.... can i ask what's in the package?

And i think imma gonna look for dorms that's closest to the Stern building, cuz i'm not much of a walk-to-school type. Do the costs differ that much? Gosh i want to get the package now..

NYU doesn't choose the dorms for us? We get to decide?

in the package it has a purple binder with a letter, two booklets, deposit thingy, and financial aid info,

wooot

Yeah, but a lot of people don't get their first choice. It's a whole big lottery system. And ED kids are first-priority for dorms, so that's good.

^ that's good to know, thanks...!
I thought dorms were scattered all around the city, and we were randomly posted to places with the ppl NYU chose for us to live with. So i get a choice..... but could this mean that i may not be staying with the ppl from the same major?? There's only 50 ppl in BPE (so the school says)...

Btw, Congratulations bimachris!!

Isn't it part of the fun to be living with people with all sorts of different backgrounds and all pursuing different goals? At least for me, that's part of the fun.
