The I finally broke 2000 club

This is a club for all people who had taken the SAT a previous time and didn't break 2000, but finally broke it on another attempt. Unlike the Uber-exclusive 2300 club and the almost as exclusive 2200 clubs that I see, this club is meant to help people, not to show off.

Qualifications for the club:

1.) A person must have achieved a score of 2000 or more on the SAT (superscores/composite scores of 2000 are accepted as well).

2.) A person must have taken the SAT a previous time and must have scored below a 2000 on it. First time 2000 scorers are not eligible.

3.) When a person posts their scores, they should post their sub 2000 score as well as their 2000+ score.

4.) After posting your scores, you should mention any prep you did or strategies you used to break 2000. As I said, this post is meant to help people, not to be a platform for bragging.

This is my post:

May 06 SAT:
M: 660 / CR: 640 / WR: 640
(1940)

Oct 06 SAT:
M: 710 / CR: 640 / WR: 680
(2030)

Strategies / Prep tips:
I didn't take a prep class or have a private tutor. I just used the Princeton Review's Cracking the SAT book and took their practice tests. They were harder than the regular SAT, so they really helped, especially on the Math. I am retaking in December to try and raise my CR score.

Ok

I originally had an 1850 SAT
650 CR 550 M 650 W

I retook in October and scored a 2090.
750 CR 600M 740 W (12 Essay)

I took a Collegeboard full length test a week before. I read Princeton Review's Cracking the SAT and some of the blue book. I also got the CB online course for free and looked at some of that. The biggest tip is the importance of studying vocab which I did a week before and I got the words from the Princeton Review's Hit List. I really was pleasantly surprised in the end though.

A very long time ago, my very first sitting, like 2 years ago?, something like 1680?
Today, 2030.

Flashcards for vocabs...I 'entertained' my friends with boredom whilst hanging out with them, eating in restraurents, etc.. Also read like 15 before bed, every 2 days or something. read them in the bathroom. read them in between tv shows, etc.. ****ed off my sister and my family by applying the big words in conversations as well.

Maths - you either have it or you dont. (i dont).

I believe writing is the best way to improve your score. (for fluent english speakers).

Used: PR, Blue book, Kaplan. All practice tests. I didnt bother with those "tips and tricks for CR, blah blah" books.
I finished the whole PR 12 practice tests book, the whole blue book, and 1/3 of kaplan, in the time span of 1-1.5 months.
I used this website: <a href="http://www.flashcardexchange.com/tag/SAT%5B/url%5D">http://www.flashcardexchange.com/tag/SAT</a> for learning vocabs - extremely useful. i highly recommend it.

I didnt do much studying compared to the effort i put in for my first sitting. (this was my 3rd). I thought I'd get over 2100 but oh well i'm pretty content. But my composite is 2100+ so i dont really care..

Goodluck everyone :)
