Same location (when I applied)- some people got interviews some didn’t. Think its also based on random selection in addition to area.

MIT, Brown down. CMU, Cornell to go :)

@Framed: Yeah, I suppose each person can only do a finite number of interviews, so it may get random after that…for example one of my interviews was with someone in a different city over skype, but everyone else is my neighborhood is meeting with another alum physically…but I think they do try their best to make some sort of interview available to every applicant.

Finally got a Princeton interview request! After all the SAT 2 scores mess-up too.
Btw, just curious, is it possible for applicants to cancel it, or it the interview compulsory? :o

You could cancel it if you are under strenuous avoidable circumstances.

Oh btw, last night … I got my first acceptance

From my UK safety >_<

Heriot-Watt for Mechanical Engineering

Oh, and do check this out- [How To Live Life](How To Live Life)
I found it very meaningful :)

WOWie! Congratulations Tizil! Of course, i think you’ll be saying this a lot over the next month :p

Interesting article Cobalt! I realized that most of those things come naturally to people. Nevertheless, it is humbling to be reminded of them once in a while :)

Haha, I wish I had your optimism Cobalt But it’s my safety (and in the UK), so I am not really the most excited right now :p

-- Double post >_< --

Congratulations Tizil. Hope this is the first of a long series

@Tizil: Previously you said that 2 of your interviews are done & Cornell, CMU to go.
Does Cornell give interviews to engg. applicants?
And didnt you apply to other IVies?

@Tizil- You don’t need to be optimistic to be sure of that And yes, exactly! It’s the little drops that make a big ocean
@everyone- Just wondering, how/how much do people prepare for interviews? Or do you just stroll in for a nice, general conversation?

Theres nothing to prepaare if one is a serious applicant for that college.
Which college int. do you have?

@Tizil-Congrats!!! I am always amused by your posts and the maturity you have shown
BTW me a parent

@Tizil Did You apply for financial aid? Btw Congrats :)

Thank You Alea :)

@USApplicant: I had my Cornell interview. I did read that applicants to the school of engineering at Cornell don’t get interview so I was pleasantly surprised when I was contacted for one. I also applied to Columbia, Penn and Brown (Ivies).

@Cobalt: Hahaha Thanks ^_^

@Manrosh: Why thank you! I only think of it is returning the favor. When I came to CC an year ago, the 15ers were very helpful and answered most, if not all of my questions. Just doing the same thing for the 17ers :)

@Apoorva: Thanks Nope, I did not apply for financial aid. Keep in mind, though, that UK universities don’t provide any financial aid for international applicants.

@Tizil: Which city do you live in cuz u you’re the first guy/girl I have come across to have been offered int. by Cornell?
No HYP on your radar seems shocking?

^yup. i usually feel either extremely optimistic or extremely pessimistic :)

@tizil (and the others who’ve had interviews)- are most of you from in or around delhi?
i know people say theyre all about location…so has anyone from down South had an interview call yet? or are there not as many alums around here?

^^I’m in Mumbai (close enough to South? :p), I got one from Pton. Freaking out, because I’m not a great spontaneous speaker and I always forget stuff when I start speaking
@Hipster- yeah totally! Tingling all over actually.
@Tizil- Arre wah! You seem to have set a record :D

@Hipster- what did they ask you? And how did you answer? (if you don’t mind…)
