Jhu is good for pre-med and Biomed-engineering. But for other branches of engineering, as Ascaris has rightfully said, there are many private and public colleges better than JHU.

Got into Macalester :)

Congratulations Contradict! First acceptance?

Congrats contradict!

Congrats Contradict!

I believe that this holds true for instate students more than OOS students in general, but the train of thought is pretty close to what I feel myself. I’m personally of the opinion that getting into college is just the beginning, it’s what you do there that’s going to make you, irrespective of where you’re studying.
In the decision season, this becomes all the more valuable because when you’re challenged by a scurry of acceptances and/or rejections it is important to look at things with the right perspective.
Congratulations to all of you accepted and for whom things haven’t being going as well, just hang in there and keep faith in yourself.

Thanks, YIAG. (I just got rejected from Wellesley )
Congo Contradict! :D

Cobalt, Its there loss. Hope you get into other selective colleges. :)

So after some considerable stalking, here’s my first post. Congratulations to everyone for those absolutely fantastic acceptances! I’ve been admitted to Vanderbilt with 90% financial aid, and Fordham(safety) also with considerable aid. Like some of you guys, I’m also now waiting for the Ivy decisions. 31st March just seems like a decade away, considering how long we’ve been waiting :-P

Must Read…

[Applying Sideways | MIT Admissions](Applying Sideways | MIT Admissions)

Has anyone applied to the university of chicago?

I have. Decisions are out in less than 12 hours!

Did you apply for aid, sigatots?

UCLA in some time today :)

Tomorrow for Indians :p

Same here, I applied for aid at UChicago… But not bothering to stay up, especially since I am going to rejected :D

So all the best to everyone who applied :)

Anyone know what’s the minimum 12th board score to ensure your admittance won’t be rescinded at places like Illinois or Berkeley? Boards aren’t going that well :(

They won’t outrightly reject you. They’ll ask you to justify that drop, maybe ask from a counsellor and all… Its nothing like UK admissions, where even if you fall short of one mark from the required score, they’ll withdraw their offer… On this thread alone I have seen people who got 63 in math in their boards and still went to MIT :D

I heard Berkeley is rather strict though. They’ll rescind anyone who gets below a 3.0 gpa or a grade lower than a C. I’m not sure how our marks translate to gpa but I’m still worried. I bombed chemistry and I think I’ll be lucky if I get above 60. Other subjects were fine but chem might bring my whole percentage down to an unacceptable standard.

Btw, rejected from UNC-Chapel Hill. Not really surprised.
